None of those studies are controlled for reduction in trans fats, so they are
meaningless.
In the stuff I read, there is a single study done some time ago (drug company
funded) that indicates there is any effect on longevity, the others do not show
any significant effect.

can't wrap my head around a drug being well tolerated when 52% of those
prescribed it suffering from severe enough side effects to have to stop taking
it, and some of those side effects can be quite severe.

EDTA has a long and confused history. Doctors have been sent to prison for
making a racket out of "cleaning the blood with IV EDTA."
Accepted uses for chelation therapy, which includes EDTA, include removal of
heavy metals from the body such as lead.

little or no good, but serious medical problems rise for those on them.
I had the industrial Doc at Ames Lab explain that to me during a

The lookup will give you the chemical name for it, but it's a non
prescription dietary supplement you can get at your local health food

I have been on statins for probably 10 years off an on with my old
doctor. My old doctor was a quack so I had not been to see anyone for
about 2 years and have not taken any for at least a year. Finally went
to new doctor yesterday. He went ahead and gave me a script for them
