It was tough describing the location of thew problem - i have a
couple of photos but the server will strip them naturally - there's
undercoating layers that make it look like metal has disappeared - but
some places have straight edges that make me wonder if perhaps only

The second photo shows the corner of the backing plate across the back of the
two upright tabs, and the tabs themselves look OK.
The nasty hole in the sub-frame mounting area needs to be closed in with some
metal and then under-sealed.

I'd say if the car does not pull under hard braking, front calipers are fine.
Can't think of a different way to test the rear calipers other than with am
assistant.

Yeah looks tidy, no major cracks in the dash, steering wheel looks
consistent with the claimed mileage but why won't it start?
Glowplugs? Sticky shut off valve?
Maybe needs a squirt of WD40 down it's throat?
Spose if it turns over the timing chain should be OK?

I've only heard bad things about them, all the way back to the mbz.org
version of this list. But have no direct experience.
I've heard that Metric Motors USED TO BE a source of factory
remanufactured engines for MB. I'm not sure of their current status.

Halon is very very dangerous because it is very heavy, and if you
breath any in, it will sit in your lungs and not come back out. You
