to take a look at my '95 and see what it looks like. I remember examining
the mechanism and thinking that it would be quite difficult to defeat. I
think that all of the cable/lever part is inside a metal box with

drilling/cutting/removing more metal that protects the hood latch. I'd say
your best bet is to get at the end of the cable under the dash, grab with a
vice grips or similar, and pop the hood that way, and then replace the
failed part
