Re: [MBZ] Bosch Wiper Blade Refills?

2021-06-15 Thread Clay via Mercedes
I had a devil of a time sourcing refills for the R107. Ended up yanking the
rubber blade out of complete sets. For the W126, the FLAPS around me did not
carry refills that fit. Neither did they have most rear wiper sizes for
anything. I was happy enough just grabbing the normal wiper armature and
struggling to make them fit. I forget which brand had the ones that actually
fit and locked to the arms securely. W140 required purchase from dealer for
wipers at highway robbery prices.

Are the rubber wiper blade inserts still available for Bosch blades? I

at a cost of at least $300. We had this problem with our old LG.

It sounds like the controller thinks the pump is jammed, so it won't run

It's monitoring drive current. A blocked drain will cause the motor to work
harder.
Of course, if the current sensor is faulty...

If, for example, the power supply for the pump was faulty, how would
the system know the difference between P/S and pump issues? There's
a limit to how much self-diagnosis is possible, especially if they're trying
to minimize the cost of the unit.

[MBZ] Bosch Dishwasher

2020-07-23 Thread Kaleb Striplin via Mercedes
So as you may recall the home service contract company sent sears over
and the guy says the pump is bad and not avaialble so the dishwasher
would have to be replaced.  The error code E25 (Might have been E24)
indicated bad drain pump or blocked drain. I checked the line and it did
not appear to be kinked and I do not see any blocked lines.  I ordered
the drain pump for $30 and installed it today.  Took about 5-10 minutes,
no big deal.  After powering it back on, it still does the same thing so
I pulled the drain hose off the pump output, it is clear there.  I even
blew into it and there is no blockage.  I pulled the pump again and
checked to make sure the output housing where the pump goes then plugs
into the hose was clear, it was.  When you power it on, pump runs in 3
short intervals then stops.  I can see in the clear drain line it is
pushing water, a small amount of water but if the pump ran continually I
am sure it would drain.  It now pops up with error E25 and in red says
Watertap.  I assumed this means something about the water supply.
Checked to make sure water was on and it is.  Tomorrow I think I will
pull the supply line to check to see if maybe there is a filter that is
blocked.  Not sure what that would have to do with draining though.

In the mean time the status of the service request is washer may be
eligible for replacement. I called them the other day but could not
understand them.  Sounded like they were going to fix washer but waiting
on parts, no estimated time of arrival.  Wife called today and the
"appliance dept" is supposed to call us by the 28th.  Still not sure if
they are replacing it or what.  Not sure if that means they are going to
buy some cheap machine or send check for whatever they cover on it and
we can go get one on our own.

I really hate to give up on it.  All the searching I see on this error
say it is simple deal with making sure the impellers are clear (they
are, pump is new), check for blockage (I have).  It seems like 4 years
is a short time for a premium product.  Wonder if I should go with Bosch
the next time or not.

I actually find it hard to believe parts are not available. I searched and find
plenty of drain pumps for these so need to get the model number. I will just
replace the pump myself and they can send me a check for the new one.

About ten years ago I bought the cheapest dishwasher they had at lowers.  About
$200?  KitchenAid, all plastic.  Dirt simple.  Works great as long as you don't
over load it.  No issues once I worked through a bad pump and a dead control
board.  It was a factory repaired model that I bought for $100 with no
warranty, after buying the parts to fix it I was back at the original cost,
should have just bought the new one.

A double dish drawer?
Those can be problematic, especially when some fool puts stuff in them
that's too tall and prevents the internal lid from sealing.
I bought one with an error code for a leak, the other drawer was supposed
to work fine.

Then I bought a parts washer that was missing the front sheet metal.
I later learned the one that was 'missing parts' was really a model that
was made for custom install, your cabinetmaker is supposed to build a
front for it to match your cabinets. So the whole dishwasher project is on
hold until I get around to redoing the base cabinets, until then I've got
the Mitch washer. It's not that big of a deal now that there's just one of

I do a sinkful of dishes every night, put them in a drainer, and they're
dry by breakfast.

The Bosch machines, at least the ones I’ve had, all have a removable
screen in the base that bits of food and other detritus land in. These
need to be cleaned out every few weeks. I can’t imagine the pump problem
being related to a clogged screen, as it’s only a portion of the inlet to
the pump and even if clogged wouldn’t totally restrict it.

I believe there’s a separate pump that clears out the pan/tray when it’s done.
That’s probably the issue.

I just watched a few videos and pulled the screen out and the cover for the
pump inlet. There was nothing blocking it and the impeller turned free. Pulled
hose off the disposal and it was clear. Examined the hose down to the back and
bottom of the washer and it was clear. Maybe there is something jammed up in
the motor behind the impellers but they turn free. I’m not going to take it
apart any further and will just wait a couple of weeks until the home warranty
kicks in and let them fix it.

I just glanced at the code and it’s from the drain pump.

You need to be looking at the drain line to make sure it’s not crimped or
blocked.

Nope. My Bosch dishwashers have been relatively trouble free. First one we had
developed some sort of problem with the heating element that was known and
covered under warranty. Second one has been installed since December and hasn’t
missed a beat. We loves our Bosch dishwasher!

Found this trying to find rotor/stator part numbers for BMW R75.   It
should be useful.   It has supercede charts for 10 digit numbers,
predecessor charts for 10 digit numbers, 10 digit to typ number, parts
breakdown for starter 10 digit numbers, giving you the 10 digit part
number for each part.   Same for alternators.

Also has similar info for regulators, brushes etc.

Unfortunately it does not seem to include the BMW parts as they are

Actually Tesla has sold some panels that have caught fire. I'm 99% certain
thats an install issue, there is no good reason for panels to catch fire.
The other possibility is that the panels have built-in inverters. Inverters
occasionally catch fire, panels themselves never catch fire.
I don't remember when we installed our first panel, 2015? 2016? Something like
that...

Re: [MBZ] Bosch Two Plunger Injection Pump System - M127

2019-03-27 Thread Curley McLain via Mercedes
Well i'd start looking for manuals with those names.   Call em up and
ask what manuals you should look for, and if they know anyone who might
have one to sell or copy. Also try the CC.

Dan Penoff via Mercedes wrote on 3/27/19 8:58 AM:

Thanks for the names, but I’m looking for written information that I can read
and refer to for future work if necessary. I have to believe that there are
Bosch manuals floating around for this system. Mine is the older two plunger
system. Later models were six plunger direct injector setups.

That’s what has me intrigued on this car - the injection system is set up with
two lines from the pump, each going to a block on the right side of the engine
where it appears there are three delivery valves with lines to injectors that
are located in the intake manifold. Pretty weird setup and something I want to
understand better.

I did score a TDM for the car on eBay a couple days ago. Paid $30 for it, heck
of a deal. That will provide hours of reading material, no doubt.

Re: [MBZ] Bosch Two Plunger Injection Pump System - M127

2019-03-27 Thread Peter Frederick via Mercedes
Gasoline injection into the manifold doesn't need to be timed accurately --
hence the CIS systems that work so well. Two plungers, each feeding three
cylinders, works just fine with lower cost.

On the other hand, the old 300SL with the "half an airplane engine" engine
required correctly timed injection as the fuel was directly injected into the
cylinder, not the manifold.

[MBZ] Bosch high pressure fuel pump failures

2018-08-27 Thread Karl Wittnebel via Mercedes
Anybody know if they are finding a way to improve these pumps? Apparently
BMW says it is a California issue and has something to do with the way fuel
is blended here. I have a hard time with that idea at over the road trucks
are very sophisticated and manage to run fine.

Trying to figure out what to do with the car.

Friends were talking about DW yesterday. They said the place they are
renting for a couple months has a Kiitchen Aid. They said it was quiet

the mixers were bought by Whirlpool 30-some years ago. I don't know who

So Karl, are you saying the Bosch makes the DWs for all the "Merkun

My brother in law has one with the top silverware rack that doesn’t clean well.
He said that when this came up during service he was told it was an issue and
that the models with the rack on the bottom did a better job. His is probably
6-7 years old now, so maybe it’s an issue they resolved.

New battery (Nov 2016), passed load test of 450amps for 15 seconds
308amps max draw cranking (including glowplugs, 68amps)
2/0 battery cables and ground strap
0.03v drop across positive cable
0.05v drop across ground path
Battery voltage drops to 9.8V on ramp up and levels off to 10.8V on constant

AL129x 115amp alternator

15W50 oil doesn't help, but the old starter was noticeably better in the cold.
So this starter DOES work, but it would be better suited for the *OM616*.

life.)
The OM60xgear reduction starter is ok, but they fail with NO warning.
I'd rather have the starter used in OM621, 615, 616 and 617, (and
probably OM636) Even when they are tired you can usually coax thenm to
work a few more months before they absolutely crap out.

It makes sense... the power output is similar, but the gearing is
different. Doesn't sound like its really going to improve things.

But this begs the question: whats is there to improve? These cars have
been starting for 40 years with the original style starter, which is still
available. Why change now?

Feedback on the attempt to convert:

Well, the SR97x is not working well for me. It cranks well enough to
start warm and above 50*f air temp but it just doesn't have the raw
power to crank fast enough to start easily below freezing.

New battery (Nov 2016), passed load test of 450amps for 15 seconds
308amps max draw cranking (including glowplugs, 68amps)
2/0 battery cables and ground strap
0.03v drop across positive cable
0.05v drop across ground path
Battery voltage drops to 9.8V on ramp up and levels off to 10.8V on
constant crank

AL129x 115amp alternator

15W50 oil doesn't help, but the old starter was noticeably better in
the cold.

So this starter DOES work, but it would be better suited for the *OM616*.

Oh, well.

Someone on BenzWorld was experimenting with the SR97X as a replacement for the

Re: [MBZ] Bosch

2016-02-20 Thread Dan Penoff via Mercedes
I think it’s this: SHX5AV5xUC*

It was $629.00 on sale at HH Gregg, a regional appliance store, but I saw it at
Lowe’s and other places for the same price. Ours has a grab handle on the
door, but there is a nearly identical model that’s flush with a recessed
handle. We like the ‘hidden” buttons, which are along the top edge of the door
and are covered up by the countertop when the door is closed.

I think this is about the bottom end of their stainless line, but they did have
others for less. Our needs are pretty basic, and it seemed like the more
expensive they got the more frivolous the features that we would never have use
for. Sort of like the washing machines with the steam cleaning and that goofy
stuff.
