Possibly. It’s quite messy and there is potential for major repairs if things go south on you. Injectors can (and will) be stuck, hold down bolts can break or puncture the water jacket. I’ve done it, but it’s not fun or for the faint of heart. Knowing what I do now I wouldn’t do it again. -D

So this is the one I got on Amazon. It also has USB ports as well as adapters to charge laptops etc. it is very handy and will jump a diesel. I used it at a customers lot once and it jumped about a dozen completely dead cars without a problem.

That's certainly a possibility. I don't know if the battery minders are expected to just keep the plates from deteriorating or to actually keep it at full charge. I'll look at it more closely tonight. I had the original battery on the charger overnight. Glowed and fired right up this morning.

I am not sure you can find a nice portable one able to crank the way a diesel needs. Battery charger jump start settings begin at 50amps. I think a diesel needs a few hundred amps at least. Your battery has 750-950 CCA, if not 1100 amps. Dead group 49 needs a few hours of charge (unless you
