There will be other issues besides the Black Death. EGR will be borked as will

Can a CDI be brought back from the "black Death"? It looks pretty nice

Not one single OM617 in the test. I'd bet one OM617 would kill it.
So it has some LiIon batteries. The current draw to light off even

So this is the one I got on Amazon. It also has USB ports as well as adapters
to charge laptops etc. it is very handy and will jump a diesel. I used it at a
customers lot once and it jumped about a dozen completely dead cars without a
problem.
That's certainly a possibility. I don't know if the battery minders are
expected to just keep the plates from deteriorating or to actually keep it at
full charge.
I'll look at it more closely tonight. I had the original battery on the charger
overnight. Glowed and fired right up this morning.

Maybe a warm diesel with thin Mobil 1 oil and the car battery
is almost enough.
But not a cold OM617 when the air is below freezing and the
car battery
I had the battery on a charger for a good 3-4 hours after I got the car home.
I got in it about 8:00, turned the key, and it glowed and fired right up.
Took the car for a 5 mile drive around the neighborhood loop to test the new
cruise amp (it worked!) and then parked it in the garage. I’m

Huge, as big as the battery in the car or nearly so anyway.
Lithium ion would get you there in a much smaller package but would be

I am not sure you can find a nice portable one able to crank the way a diesel
needs. Battery charger jump start settings begin at 50amps. I think a diesel
needs a few hundred amps at least. Your battery has 750-950 CCA, if not 1100
amps. Dead group 49 needs a few hours of charge (unless you

I'm sitting at my tire guy's place while their boost charger gives the diesel
some juice. If you recall, I ran it down last night but charged it back up

Save your money. I've never seen one with enough guts to start a
Diesel. It is better to carry a set of 4 ga to 0 ga jumper cables.
Or, at lease 6 ga. those will work to charge the battery enough to
start the engine if you give them 5-10 min of charging, but they will
