The “market price” thing for charging sales tax is a total scam. Thankfully
Florida doesn’t do this. On Florida titles there is a place for listing the
selling price and that’s what you’re taxed on. You can also provide a bill of
sale, but they go by what’s on the title.

I'd never heard of that Honda Clarity either, but I think that concept
(plug-in hybrid) will be the long term winner. Plug the car in at home to
charge during the night, then use all-electric power for the short trip
to/from work. Gasoline (or better yet a diesel) engine that kicks in to
