Back when Rusty was in the process of selling out and closing his business, I
ordered 2 Bilstein regular duty shocks. He send me 2 Bilstein HD shocks.
I installed them on the rear anyway and the ride was the same as yours.
Now I need 2 for the front and I'm wondering if the regulars on the front
People seem to get caught buying the HD Bilsteins from time to time. I got a
set for my former 300SD and hated them. They were so hard you could feel every
little bump/crack/rock in the road. In a car that was more of a high

Just to clarify, I wasn’t suggesting he put Monroes on it - GAAAK! Just
tossing them out as a price point reference.
Bilstein or Sachs. Nothing else. And avoid the HD Bilsteins unless you want

I put some KYB struts and shocks in SWMBO's Infiniti, and they ride almost
like rocks, WAY too stiff for me. Not bad for short trips around town and
on smooth highway drives, but not at all suitable for a long day in the

Ugh, Monroe's ride like you welded the rod to the cylinder, avoid them at all
costs (and they are valved like American shocks, too). Had a pair on the rear

yard. Vastly better.

Glad you’re able to keep it from going up in flames. You can’t imagine the

Big beautiful cars, but very gas hungry.
At least you are getting some use from the fuel!

One day I hope to get that high.
At least now I will not be spewing fuel out and getting no miles from it.

Yeah, that old D-Jet has amazing acceleration when set up right. Amazing fuel
consumption, too -- when my 280 drove like that I was getting 14 mpg.

There were two OE injectors that had chosen to piddle upon the engine
