I work part time for a large company which confirms most sales by
email. I would guess that 75% of the time that a customer complains of
non-receipt of email confirmation, they use AOL.

It usually means the seller has decided not to sell the item, decided
that the item will sell too cheaply, or a deal has been made outside of
ebay.

the floor auction today. Then throw Ebay live auction into the mix
which does not show any bids being placed on the items, and you really
have a mess.

First off, I appreciate all of the comments both to the group and in
private. Second, I would love to see MoviePosterBid succeed. I really
admire your efforts. I would much prefer to participate in specialty
auctions. I wish that there was a way to get more buyers and sellers to
join.
I do not think slabbed movie posters will ever be a viable option
primarily for logistical reasons. It would be difficult to store and
ship such items. They could still be displayed. But if they ever are
slabbed, then they will become, as slabbed comics have, merely a item
of value and not enjoyme

I agree with you. I put a want list for Hitchcock half sheets and
inserts. I got 4 responses and I sent emails to each person. Only
Kirby responded with a item and a price. The others did not bother.
When I see an obvious collector's want list and I have something they
may want, I send th
without reserve because of this. Someone just placed a
$1 bid and that wiped out the BIN which I had paid for. If you list a
reserve price with BIN, the BIN stays until the reserve price is
reached.
