There are SCSI floppy drives, at least, the external
interface is.
Maico Arts has one (or did have) that supports up to ED on
his MSX.
The diskdrive had a SCSI--FDC conversion PCB mounted on
the bottom.
As far as I know it works and the PC is able to read the
disks.
One problem : The price
connector of 8235, connect
driveselectsignal of internal driveconnector 0 to external
connector.
option 2 is to make a cable to connect 14 pin internal drive
connector to 34 pin flatcable connector of diskdrive.

the Megascsi is the interface from Japan which is too expensive in your
opinion. (I must agree with you, it is not cheap but I did buy one. It is
faster then the Gouda-scsi)

AFAIK the MK uses i/o-adres in the range of D0 to D8 (or somthing like
that), Gouda uses 34 to 36.
There was a manual with the Novaxis. I am not sure, but I think you had to
buy it! I have one but I am not able to get any copies on the net.
the manual contains the bios routines for this scsi-interface.
About i/o ports:
there are three ranges of i/o-ports: 1C-1E, 24-26 and 34-36

I have a Club Gouda SCSI controller with Novaxis ROM in my
Turbo R with a
200Mb harddisk.
I experienced problems with fdisken of a ZIP disk. In the
end I succeeded
with de NFDISK programm. (It bugged with some sort

works on all MSX types without running a special
installation program, it
uses the disk ROM.
How about DISKCOPY.COM which comes with MSXDOS2?

something like DS0 or DS1. It has to be set to DS0 to act as
an a-drive. It is called drive select.

uses this method (own code in a RAM segment and #F252
patching) and works

To make big EVA files you can digitize them with MSX and fix them

MSX should be able to do this also by using the concat command of

It works for me too! try boot the pc with zip-disk inserted. then
win95/98 will see 4 partitions and thus give 4 drives to the
zip-disk...

Apart from the ESE-RAM, are out there any other solid state devices
with
nonvolatile SRAM (not flash ROM) that can be used as a bootable
RAM-DISK?
