Hey everyone, just figured I would share my recent findings regarding an air leak so hopefully it will help someone else resolve the problem faster. My bike is an 83 NH650. It's been losing power at higher speeds, especially when it's windy/gusty out. It pretty much forces me to draft a truck

Javier is correct - KN's are washable and can be re-coated with their 'Filter Fluid' - they also provide more flow without losing filtration than a stock filter (usually a good thing but not for lean jetted Hondas!) I run one on my car and got about two more miles to the gallon because it uncorked

Graham, It more resembles Marvel Mystery Oil - its red in color - a very light oil - it is lighter than transmission fluid but a similar color. As to 'how can you tell its better' - I don't know - I assume you can flow test it on a bench - but I can confirm that I did get more

For that matter,  you could just buy the foam filter and add a little MarvelMystery Oil  at two or three bucks a can and have oil left over to clean repeatedly and use for other applications, like lubrication of squeaky doors, lawn mower wheels, etc.  Or add the can to the crankcase to clean
