Vim offers good support for ConTeXt and MetaPost out of the box (I
maintain those filetypes). The Vim page in ConTeXt Garden is
collection is a so called date-driven list generator.
This allows to produce lists with any kind of date interval in days for any
duration. It allows to adjust the number of columns in the list as well as
changing the column heads to the requirements of the list.

One suggestion: instead of unpacking and committing "texmf-context.zip",
I'd recommend adding

as a git submodule. That way, it's easy to keep the files up-to-date, your
repo will use
sk space used. This is a fairly common implementation among other
software.
One other solution would be to have "dl.contextgarden.net" mirror a
zip/binary combo once every few months or so. These would often be out
of date, but they would provide a stable archive that would be useful in
