Did you compiled with ldap support? It requires something like
Err. my problem was fixed installing pdflatex and texl* packages.
anyway, you should edit file
/usr/local/share/openvas/openvasmd/global_report_formats/c402cc3e-b531-11e1-9163-406186ea4fc5/generate
manually or apply this patch to get faster pdf generation (doubles the
speed of pdf generation).

openldap-devel package during the compilation of software.
