Best maitained packages (as from what I've heard) are the ones
from OBS and Atomic. OBS is probably even the better choice for

thats why OpenVAS 4 introduces the Master-Slave Feature.
You just need to accompany each Scanner with a (Slave)Manager
and you are done :-)

If you urgently need to create a report on the results, there
is the nice Overrides feature where you can set such results
to false positive for the time being.

gsad directly serving 443 or 80 might need some fiddeling though.

it is fully maintained across all stable OpenVAS releases.
But OTP has several drawbacks and design issues and it is desirable
to have a leaner OTP version as well as a new, more advanced, protocol.

are you using the GUI or CLI?
I have feedback from several pentesters using the OMP cli command. They just
have the openvasmd running extra which is indeed some more weight, but in
practice
(mem, cpu) not really an issue. For that case you do not even need gsad.
