Does winamp play MP4 files and does Gold Wave play them as well?
Also, how would I convert MP4 files to MP3?

More importantly, it's used in studios all over the world now to mix albums.
No idea how accessible it is, but it's a hugely powerful suite of software
and it'd be great if screenreader users could take advantage of it if they
want to get into serious recording.

Default should be program files\winamp; perhaps you reset it by mistake. Use
find; search for winamp.exe. The plugins folder should be within your winamp
folder, wherever that is...

Audacity is free and will do this for you. ALternatively, you could use
goldwave. You can maximise the volume, perform amplification, and while you
can't actually increase the quality of the recording you can use filters to
bring out certain frequencies more that you think you're not hearing,

5.601 is the version I have; if it's not the latest, it's the next to
latest. I've never had any issues with winamp and jaws in any version...best
standard audio/video player around as far as I'm concerned, even after the
switch of ownership. Just remember to switch your visulaisation settings
