You can usually find the settings you are looking for in sounds and audio devices in the control pannel. Once you get there, you should find audio, and then make sure under the recording options, your line-in is checked. There should be a check box out beside it. You can still here the audio

Perhaps in your buffering settings, or it could be in your internet connection settings, if you have the box checked to disconnect if idle for a certain time. Even though you have activity with streaming audio, sometimes I've seen that happen. If you have high speed internet, that doesn't apply.

Just to make sure we are talking about the same transmitter, which model are you using. Mine has the frequency adjustment buttons on the top along with a power button. It also has a cord similar to that of a telephone wire with an eighth inch plug on the end. Being blind, I don't know the model
