Fwd: iTunes 12.1.1 for Windows
From: Scott Erichsen piano...@scotterichsen.com To: vi...@freelists.org Apple releases iTunes 12.1.1 update for Windows with playback improvements, Outlook syncing fixes, more After releasing iTunes 12.1 in January adding a Notification Center widget for OS X Yosemite users on the Mac, Apple has released a minor update to iTunes 12.1 specifically for Windows users. According to the release notes, iTunes 12.1.1 addresses an issue that caused audio playback to glitch while also improving syncing between Outlook and iPhones and iPads. Apple also says the update “improves compatibility with screen readers.” The latest version is rolling out now so iTunes users on Windows should be able to update soon I have successfully tried this with JAWS 16.0.1925 and the results are really good. Thanks Apple for listening! Scot
The Future of Winamp
Hi all, Is it just me or is anyone else concerned about the future development of Winamp? The last version came out in mid December 2013 just before Winamp was taken over by Radionomy. See www.radionomy.com and www.winamp.com. I wrote to the developers of Winamp on Twitter a few weeks ago asking about the future of Winamp and received no response. I hope I'm wrong but I'm starting to think even though there have been promises of new versions of Winamp that development of Winamp has been abandoned. I know that there are plenty of other good audio players such as Foobar2000 and VLC media player available. the reason I like Winamp is mainly because of the extra functionality added to Winamp when it is used with the Window-Eyes scripts. Regards Steve.
Re: The Future of Winamp
Hi Tom and all, Regarding the installer for Winamp one thing I have done for a very long time is to save all the installers of the programs I use on two external hard disks. The reason I do this on two disks is that if one disk fails I'll still have a copy of the installers as it is unlikely that both hard disks will fail at the same time. I also save the serial numbers of any software I buy on those same hard disks. This has helped me tremendously a few times when I've had to format my hard disk or put software on to a new computer. If you have all the installers and serial numbers it means that you don't have to download all the software again and that saves a huge amount of time and frustration! Also you don't have the problem of recovering a lost serial number of any software you have purchased. I just checked and Winamp can still be downloaded from www.majorgeeks.com and probably many other places as well. Just download and save the installer and you'll have a copy if you ever need to install it again for any reason. Regards Steve. Fwd: iTunes12.1 accessibility
Hi all, I don't use iTunes myself but I'm just passing this on for those people who do. Regards Steve. From: Scott Erichsen piano...@scotterichsen.com To: vi...@freelists.org Hi all, I’m sharing the following from Freedom Scientific to help clear up confusion as to why iTunes 12.1 is inaccessible to JAWS and other screen readers under 64bit windows. With iTunes 12.1 and 64-bit iTunes Apple inadvertently introduced an accessibility problem with accessing the album list and perhaps other lists in the iTunes UI. (The problem does not exist in the 32-bit version of iTunes.) It impacts JAWS, Narrator, and Window Eyes. All three of these products use 64-bit components to obtain MSAA event information inside of the iTunes process generating the events. This generally offers better performance than receiving events out-of-process. NVDA uses the out-of-process technique and is primarily a 32-bit app, even on 64-bit windows. The nature of the iTunes bug is such that it does not impact 32-bit processes receiving events out-of-process. Just to let everyone know. We have had some success getting in touch with an engineer on the iTunes for Windows team at Apple. We have given them the information they need to get this resolved and will have to give them a chance to resolve it now. Hope this helps. Scott
New Version of TapinRadio Available

Update on TapinRadio Crashing
Hi all, Recently there was some discussion about TapinRadio crashing for some people on the list. I mentioned that I had solved this problem by uninstalling my anti-virus program which is ESET Smart Security version 8, updating TapinRadio with the latest station presets and then re-installing ESET Smart Security. Since then I've found that every time I update the station presets in TapinRadio with my anti-virus program installed I get the problem other people have reported with an error similar to web downloader not responding. So I have actually uninstalled my anti-virus program, updated the TapinRadio presets and then reinstalled ESET Smart Security for a second time. After the second installation of ESET Smart Security I went into the options of TapinRadio and turned off the option to check for new station listings automatically. Since I've turned this option off I haven't had any problems with TapinRadio crashing. However while I can now listen to stations on TapinRadio I can't update the presets for fear of TapinRadio crashing again. I'm using Windows 7 32-bit with all important Windows Updates installed. I hope a solution to this problem can be found for those of us who are getting the crashes in TapinRadio. Regards Steve.
Total Recorder and Window-eyes 9 Beta 1
Hi all, I don't know if other people have noticed this or not but when using versions of Window-Eyes prior to version 9 beta 1 and in Total Recorder for me responsiveness was very sluggish when going through the menus. I'd press the up and down arrow keys and it would take roughly a second after pressing the up and down arrow keys before each menu item was spoken. I'm delighted to say that since installing the first beta of version 9 responsiveness is very quick and all the sluggishness has gone. This makes using Total Recorder with Window-Eyes a far more pleasant experience! Regards Steve.

Date: 3 November 2014 6:31:44 am AEDT Hello everybody For the last couple of weeks I have been working with the developers of a software package called “RadioBOSS” to make their software accessible. I wrote them a long report outlining the accessibility requirements and, within 48 hours of my doing so, they have produced a beta which removes the accessibility issues almost completely. Their formerly graphically drawn boxes are now standard group box controls, and it is possible to navigate between them via the keyboard. The software has excellent audio processing, oodles of keyboard hot keys, built-in streaming/DSP encoders, (including Icecast 2.0 and Shoutcast 2.0), full support for uploading playlists to a remote server, full song requester facilities, accurate top-of-the-hour rotation timing, multiple file formats supported, on-the-fly recording of broadcasts, multiple simultaneous input/output sound devices, dynamically updated music libraries, Copy Paste queuing, automatic playlist generation suitable for full 24/7 automation, and much much more. The software comes in three different flavours, depending upon your needs. But even the most expensive “Advanced” license is priced at just $199.00 US which, in comparison even to things like Station Playlist Creator and Sam Broadcaster, is a very affordable price. Indeed, to license SPL and Studio Pro you’re looking at $450 for the two apps together. This comes as an all-in-one application and is, as I say, cheaper than Station Playlist Creator Pro on its own. I shall continue to work with the developers to further accessibility. But it shows what can be achieved if one approaches a developer in the right way. I went to them politely and demonstrated my willingness to play the game, so to speak, by purchasing 4 licenses for the Advanced edition which can be used on my four machines here to broadcast. I am excited as to the prospects of using this software, and once we iron out a few more of the issues, I am confident that we will end up with a very accessible and highly effective means of putting one’s programming to air. If you immediately rush off to download it, I should warn you against downloading the main release setup version on their website. It is not fully accessible at all. Many of the tabs and panels are not available in that version. If you want to download and try the beta, you’ll need to access their Forum and download as a guest from there. Alternatively, get back to me off list and I’l send you a copy of the beta. TapinRadio Presets
Hi all, For users of TapinRadio I've noticed the presets list is often updated on Monday or Tuesday of each week. Also for users of TapinRadio Pro only if you press Control+N while in TapinRadio you can see a list of stations that have been added in the latest list of presets so this feature makes it very easy to see newly added stations. I particularly like this feature. Regards Steve.
Re: My TapinRadio Problem Solved
Hi Chuck, I didn't have to reinstall TapinRadio as I already had it installed. What I did was to uninstall my anti-virus software which in my case is ESET Smart Security 8 and then reinstall it again and TapinRadio worked normally again. Before uninstaling my anti-virus program I tried disabling it to see if TapinRadio would work but that didn't help. Regards Steve. My TapinRadio Problem Solved
Hi all, Just an update to let people know that I solved the problem I was having with TapinRadio crashing. The solution for me was to uninstall and then reinstall my anti-virus program which is ESET Smart Security version 8. Since doing this I can update TapinRadio presets and listen to stations without any problems. It will be interesting to see if I can update the next lot of new presets. If I can't at least next time I'll know where to start to find a solution. I hope this helps others who are having similar problems with TapinRadio. Regards Steve.
Re: My TapinRadio Problem Solved
Hi Chuck, Thanks for your message. I neglected to mention that first of all I tried disabling my firewall and anti-virus software to see if TapinRadio would let me hear stations and that didn't work. So I tried completely uninstalling my anti-virus software and reinstalling it again and that solved the problem. Yes it was a bit of work and inconvenient but I'm glad it fixed the problem. Of course whether you do this or not is completely up to you but this was the only thing that worked for me. Regards Steve. On 11/11/2014 2:43 PM, Charles Krugman wrote: well I tried to disable the AVG firewall and redownloaded the file from the web site. When installing the file however I received an error message stating that this file is corrupt and that I should find a new version of the program. I'm not sure if there is any other part of AVG to disable and I'm not really to spend uninstalling and reinstalling it so I'm looking for other solutions.
Re: Tapin Radio crashes when doing a search
Thanks Chuck. I'm running the edition of TapinRadio for Windows 7 and still having the problem so it doesn't appear to be related to the operating system being used. I hope a solution is found soon! Can anyone Listen to Stations Using TapinRadio
Hi all, We've heard from a number of people who are having problems with TapinRadio crashing. I'm wondering if anyone on the list can successfully listen to stations on TapinRadio at the moment. I know it worked well previously so I'm only interested to know if some people can hear stations using TapinRadio currently. Often I can't even get into the stations menu to hear a station since the crashes started. If some people can still listen to stations using TapinRadio this will show that not everyone is having problems. However if no one on the list can now listen to stations using TapinRadio I think it is more likely that this crash is a problem on the TapinRadio end. Feedback would be appreciated and I hope this issue is resolved quickly! Regards Steve.
Re: Can anyone Listen to Stations Using TapinRadio
Thanks Tom. The latest version of Tapinradio is 1.60.1. The version number of TapinRadio is displayed in the title bar of the program. Re: Tapin Radio crashes when doing a search
Hi Chris and all, Chris, thanks for your message. Unfortunately I don't have a solution to your problem but I'm having a similar problem with TapinRadio that started recently. Your message helped confirm the fact that I'm not the only one having this problem. For me though I now get similar messages to you when I try to go into the Stations menu. Tapinradio crashes for me when I do this and gives me the same message to what you get. I'm using ESET Smart Security as my virus checker and recently upgraded to version 8 of this program. I don't know if this is related to the TapinRadio problem or not though. Hoping anyone having this problem finds a solution eventually. Regards Steve. On 9/11/2014 3:34 AM, Chris Skarstad wrote: As the subject line says, as of this past week for whatever reason, Tapin Radio has suddenly started to crash on me when performing a search by typing something into the edit box on the main screen. When i answer no, another dialogue appears and says, couldn't load presets, pre-mature end of document, with an ok button. I've tried completely uninstalling and re-installing the program with both the free and paid versions and it still exhibits this behavior. I've been using Tapin for ages now and have never seen this. I wrote to the support folks for Tapin Radio and haven't received any kind of response, so I figured i'd ask here. The only major change I made lately is that I installed a newer version of Nod 32 antivirus on my machine, so I wonder if the 2 aren't fighting with each other? So if anyone knows if there's a fix for this, I'd appreciate it. Firefox 33 to Add Voice and Video Calling
Hi all, I don't know if this feature of Firefox will work with screen readers but I've just read that Firefox 33 which is currently in beta will let you make free voice and video calls from Firefox without the need to download any plug-ins or install any additional software. With new stable versions of Firefox being released about every six weeks we should be able to try this feature fairly soon. Re: How Do I Tell My Computer I Want Winamp To Play The CD?
Hi Tom, The answers Dan has given you are completely correct and will definitely work. However as is often the case in Windows there are several ways to achieve the same result. Another method to fix this problem is to change settings in Winamp. When in the main Winamp Window press Control+P to go to the Winamp preferences. Tab until you get to a treeview in the preferences dialogue box and make sure you are on General Preferences by pressing either the up or down arrow keys. If the General Preferences branch of the treeview is closed expand it using the right arrow key. Next press the down arrow key until you get to an item in the treeview called File Types. Next press Tab until you get to an option called Launch Winamp for Audio CDs. this is a checkbox, make sure it is checked. Next Tab until you get to a button called Close and press space on that. If everything worked correctly When you insert an audio CD it should be played in Winamp. I hope this helps. Regards Steve. Important for users of GW Connect Fwd: Support for SkypeKit ends August 4
From: gw-n...@gwmicro.com Dear fans and supporters of GWConnect. We were notified by Microsoft earlier today that support for SkypeKit, the heart of GWConnect, ended yesterday, July 31, 2014 and no further updates will be available. In addition, on Monday August 4, 2014 SkypeKit will stop working which means GWConnect will also stop working. We were hoping for a different outcome but this is beyond our control. We also hoped for a greater warning but again, we just became aware today. Everyone who purchased a 12-month license for GWConnect will receive a prorated refund. In other words, if 11 months ago you purchased the 12-month license, your refund will be much smaller than the person who purchased it today. There are no 1 month licenses that ran for less than 1 month so those are not affected. We will contact everyone who is receiving a refund as quickly as possible. We sincerely wished for a different ending but we truly thank all of you who supported this fine product. Please stay in touch with us as we continue to provide new and better products in the future. Is Integrated Sound Adequate?
Hi all, I'm planning to buy a new computer. With the rapid advancements in motherboards and hardware generally I'm interested in people's thoughts about whether it's still better to buy a dedicated sound card or have we now reached the stage where using integrated sound on the motherboard is adequate? I bought my current PC in July 2008 so it is about six years old. I'm currently running a Creative sound card. I've never used integrated sound on the motherboard on my home PC before. Also I don't need the most expensive sound card available but I don't want it to be too basic either. One feature I would like is the ability to provide some type of virtual surround sound as I have limited space where my PC is located and only room for a two speaker system. I appreciate there is no right or wrong answer to this question but I thought this list would be a good place to ask because there are bound to be a lot of people who are a bit more fussy about audio quality etc. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you. Regards Steve.

Warning about burnAware 7
Hi all, Today I upgraded to BurnAware 7 and found that as so often is the case they have a new interface that looks visually appealing but it is no longer possible to navigate the menus using the keyboard. I'm using the premium edition but this probably applies to all editions. I wrote to them through their support link on their home page at www.burnaware.com and I'd suggest anyone else concerned about this issue write to them as well. You will need to complete a CAPTCHA before sending your message. For those who don't know BurnAware is a CD burning program for Windows that used to be very accessible. Regards Steve.
Important Shoutcast changes
Hi all, During the transition period where Radionomy take over from AOL as the owners of Winamp there are some changes being made to Shoutcast. You can read the details at http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=375305 Regards Steve.

Winamp Scripts Version 4.0 for Window-Eyes are now Available
Hi all, Version 4.0 of the Winamp scripts for Window-eyes are now available. Below are the changes in this version of the scripts: • Window-Eyes 8.4 is required for this version of the Winamp app. • Made the startup processing of the Winamp app much faster. • By user request, the following items are now available as global hotkeys as long as the winamp window is open: • SpeakTotalTrackTime • SpeakCurrentPlayTime • SpeakCurrentPlayTimeRemaining • Make sure to enable this functionality in the Winamp App Preferences menu (Control-Shift-P) and in the Miscellaneous Settings dialog. • Time announcement changes: • All time announcements will no longer speak seconds if the value is 0. • Hours has been added as a part of the formatting for the displaying of time values for a track. • More refinements on time display have also been made to provide a richer speech response. • The App menu from the Menu Bar has been adjusted to provide menu items for each help topic available. • Fixed the loading of ACB Radio bookmarks since the release of the ACB Radio Tuner changed the XML location and format of the technical information. You can either get the scripts from http://tinyurl.com/ka7dso6 or by using the AppGet app (press Windows Key and G). If you haven't purchased Window-Eyes and you'd still like to try this app and you have a licensed copy of Microsoft Office 2010 or higher installed you can download a free copy of Window-Eyes at www.windoweyesforoffice.com Regards Steve.
Article: Winamp finds a buyer -- and it’s not Microsoft
This article is taken from http://tinyurl.com/pa4jq5r The home page for Radionomy mentioned in the article is www.radionomy.com Regards Steve. Winamp finds a buyer -- and it’s not Microsoft By Wayne Williams Winamp was a massively popular media player in the nineties, but it withered under AOL’s ownership, and failed to move with the times. Few people were surprised when a month ago AOL finally decided to cut its losses, announcing that, starting December 20 2013, the site and associated cloud services, including Shoutcast, would no longer be available to the public. A petition to save the media player garnered close to 50,000 signatures, and Spotify created a fun tribute called Spotiamp, but the writing looked to be firmly on the wall for Winamp, despite rumors that Microsoft was interested in saving the service. Today it appears that Winamp has indeed found a savior, but it’s not one that anyone was expecting. Although there’s been no official announcement yet (hardly surprising given it’s New Year’s Day), a Whois request now shows Winamp’s name servers pointing to Radionomy, a service that lets you discover, listen to and create online radio stations. If Radionomy is indeed the new owner it bodes well for Shoutcast’s survival, but what it will mean for the Winamp media player is less clear. Hopefully we’ll have a better idea once an official announcement is made.

Re: Where do you get Winamp Pro? was RE: Winamp Shutting down on December20, 2013
Hi all, Sorry for the confusion. If you go to www.winamp.com/media-player/all and when you're at the top of that page use your screen reader's find command to search for Winamp.com without the quotes and start reading from there you should find the message about Winamp shutting down. Regarding Winamp Pro the link I gave in my previous version is for the free version of Winamp. However if you've already purchased a serial number for Winamp Pro and entered it into Winamp the latest version will turn into Winamp Pro. It looks like you can no longer buy Winamp pro though. I've been using Winamp Pro since 2004. Regards Steve. On 21/11/2013 8:18 AM, Evan Reese wrote: Don't know. Re: Scheduling in winamp
Hi, I purchased Winamp Pro for $10 in 2004 and it doesn't have this feature. You don't say what screen reader you're using but if you're using Window-Eyes 8.3 the Window-Eyes Winamp app will let you do this in the free version of Winamp. See the brief section below from the documentation for the Window-Eyes Winamp app: Control-Shift-F12 - Add an alarm to launch a bookmark or file at a specified time. Control-Shift-Windows-F12 - Open the Alarm Maintenance window to Add, Edit, Remove or Remove All Alarms. The Add button here allows manual entry of all fields and not specifying a file or bookmark. GWConnect Version 2.0 is now Available
Hi all, GW Micro have released GWConnect version 2.0. For anyone not familiar with GWConnect it is an accessible interface to Skype designed to work with Window-Eyes and other screen readers. It can be downloaded from www.gwmicro.com/App_Central/Apps/App_Details/?scriptid=1353 Below is a list of the 71 changes that have been made in this version. Regards Steve. GWConnect can now be made ad-free for non-Window-Eyes customers. Please visit http://www.gwmicro.com/catalog/gw_connect for details. GWConnect's startup time has been reduced. You can now rename contacts in GWConnect. Either choose the Rename item from the Contact/Context menus or hit F2. If the renamed text is blank, GWConnect will fall back to the contact's own display name or phone number (in the case of Skype Out contacts). A new privacy dialog has been added to the Skype menu. This will allow you to limit who can call you, send you IMs, etc. Also under the Skype menu is a voicemail options window. Here you can enable/disable whether voicemail is active for your account as well as record your own greeting. Note that it appears that for this feature to work, you have to explicitly enable the voicemail option from your Skype account on the web if you haven't already done so. Added SMS support. Note that the Skype Kit only supports sending SMS messages. There is presently no way to receive them. Additionally, you must have sufficient Skype Out credit or sending the message will fail. Added an Answer item to the Call menu so you can now use this directly from the main UI in addition to the dialog or global hotkeys. When a call begins, GWConnect will now tell you who's calling if you have enabled speech messages. Under the call menu is a Hold/Resume Conversation menu item. This will let you put the active call on hold locally and resume it. GWConnect will announce the new status of the conversation; e.g. conversation on hold or conversation resumed. The Contact menu has a View Mood Text item for people who weren't able to see the full mood text column. All this does is open a message box with the mood text for easier review. Added Alt F1 through Alt F12 (excluding Alt F4) to switch to different preset contact views such as Skype Contacts, Skype Out Contacts, etc. The name of the new view is also announced. There is a new tab in the options window called Startup Shutdown. All choices related to GWConnect's startup, minimization, and shutdown behavior have been moved here. Added an option to the Startup Shutdown tab to ask you whether you want to close GWConnect on exit. This is enabled by default. Added the option to have Alt-F4 minimize GWConnect rather than close it outright. This option is found in Options/Startup Shutdown. Added an option to automatically answer incoming calls (under Options/General). When active, any incoming calls will be answered but only if you aren't already in a call with someone else. If you are, the caller is sent immediately to voicemail. In options/general is an edit box where you can instruct GWConnect to hang up if you don't answer an incoming call after X number of seconds (default is 30). Enter only whole numbers greater than 0. Note that this option will only do something if you have set this value to be greater than 0 and if you have enabled voicemail for your account. An option to speak timestamps for incoming and outgoing chat messages has been added to Options/Speech (default is unchecked). This setting is entirely independent of the show timestamps option for the message log. A new checkbox has been added to the speech tab to cause GWConnect to always say alert prior to any of its messages. This is disabled by default. Note that this only applies to program-generated events such as when contacts sign in, a message is received, etc. Anything you do which would normally cause speech (such as changing contact views, reading messages in text chat windows, etc. will not produce the extra alert text. The message log tab in the options dialog has been renamed to History. Under the history tab of the options window is a new group of radio buttons which will let you choose how much text chat and recent event history should be retrieved. The default is to only retrieve activity from the last 30 days. Added a checkbox under the Startup Shutdown tab of the options window to let you choose whether to run GWConnect when Windows starts. There is now no need to re-run the setup program or manually delete the GWConnect shortcut from the local user's startup group if you want to change this behavior after installing GWConnect. A setting has been added to Options/Files which will allow you to have GWConnect automatically close file transfer windows when they complete. You can now automatically accept incoming files when the respective checkbox is checked in the Files tab of the options window. When enabled, any existing file will

TapinRadio and Window-Eyes
Hi all, For Window-Eyes users TapinRadio works much better with Window-Eyes 7.5.3 that was released last week. Below is a short quote from the Window-eyes documentation about this: Window-Eyes now includes native support for QT-based software such as Virtual Box, the Accessible Kindle Reader from Amazon, Tappin Radio, and more. The QT Support app from App Central is no longer required. End quote. However if you are still using a version of Window-Eyes earlier than 7.5.3 you will need the QT Support app. Version 7.5.3 is a free upgrade for those people using version 7.5 of Window-Eyes or higher. I hope this helps. Regards Steve. To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

Script for Easy CD-DA Extractor now Available
Hi all, A Window-Eyes script for Easy CD-DA Extractor has just been released. It can be downloaded from www.gwmicro.com/sc or you can get it through the AppGet or Install Packages script. Information about the script is below. -Steve. Easy CD-DA Extractor Enhanced 1.0 by Vic Beckley This app causes the main control where the song titles show up in all three parts of the program to speak automatically as you arrow through it. The checked or unchecked status will not speak. FYI, in the CD Ripper portion of the program, all titles are selected when you first insert a CD. If you move the selection, then all are unselected and you have to press the spacebar on a title to check it. This app also adds the following default hot keys: Control-T in the CD Creator portion of the program checks how much time you have used on your disc and how much time there is left. Control-1 goes to the Audio CD Ripper. Control-2 goes to the Audio Converter. Control-3 goes to the CD/DVD Creator. Control-4 goes to the Metadata Editor. Control-L goes to the list of files in each portion of the program. Control-B starts a burn task when in the CD/DVD Creator. Control-E erases a rewritable disc when in the CD/DVD Creator. Control-Shift-I creates a disc image when in the CD/DVD Creator. Control-I burns a disc image when in the CD/DVD Creator. Control-R starts the ripping process when in the Audio CD Ripper. As a hint, bringing up the context menu while in the list of songs in any of the program yields many valuable options. I am working on getting the app to notify you when a burning task has been successfully completed. If you have any problems, comments or suggestions, please contact me by E-mail. For your convenience, I have added a menu choice on the Apps Menu which will open a blank message in your default E-mail client addressed to me. There are several other helpful options there. Fwd: Accessible Software from DVDVideoSoft
From: David Goldfield dgold...@asb.org To: n...@freelists.org Just got this press release which not only may be of interest to some of you but which also mentions NVDA. DVDVideoSoft Programs are Fully Accessible for People with Visual Impairments DVDVideoSoft has updated YouTube software and now it features compatibility with screen reading software (screen readers) that is widely used among blind and disabled people. (PRWEB) December 02, 2011 DVDVideoSoft, a leading free software developer who thinks highly of every user, made its software compatible with screen readers, special software applications that attempt to identify and interpret what is being displayed on the screen. Today DVDVideoSoft releases new updates for YouTube software which includes special compatibility mode for such software. Some months ago DVDVideoSoft redesigned the most popular programs from the list of 40+ tools included in Free Studio. All YouTube downloading software featured a new interface that appeared to be of no use for blind, visually impaired people who use screen reading software to work with computers. So, based on core principle of following users' needs, the staff arrived at the decision to make the software fully accessible for the people with visual impairments. Thereby, a new option has been embedded in all YouTube downloading software. Now it is possible with one click to enable compatibility with screen reading software in the Options menu of the main program window. The new functionality was tested with NVDA screen readers. Thus all users can enjoy using DVDVideoSoft software again without any limitation. Moreover, the company has slightly simplified YouTube software interface and proved itself again as a developer of free, simple and user friendly software. Due to thoroughly elaborated interface all extensive functionality is accessible and comprehensive for advanced users as for neophytes. DVDVideoSoft company's representative, Alex Wang comments: First of all we must thank our users for their feedback that we get soon after new releases and updates. It helps us react quickly and eliminate all difficulties our users are confronted with. The most important thing is that now absolutely all users have the possibility to enjoy not only the new interface of our programs, but all new functions embedded in redesigned YouTube software. There are no more obstacles for it. All-in-one package Free Studio includes all recent updates which can be downloaded from official web site http://www.dvdvideosoft.com. ### Contact Information Alex Wang DVDVideoSoft Limited http://dvdvideosoft.com To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

Station Playlist Scripts Version 3.5 for Window-Eyes are now Available
Hi all, Station Playlist Scripts Version 3.5 for Window-Eyes are now Available. Below are the changes in this version of the scripts. Regards Steve. GW Toolkit Version 8.4.2 or later is required for this release. Custom Request List Reading Settings have been implemented. This new functionality relates to the new window in Studio which is access from the View Menu followed by the Listeners Requests (Control-Q) command. This includes the ability to control which columns and headers are spoken as well as the utilization of Enhanced Arrow keys within the Request List window. The Custom Track List configuration dialog has been enhanced to allow for both the Track List or the Request List to be configured. The determination is based on what menu item is selected from the Scripts menu in the Window-Eyes control panel. If an item is added to the Play List that is a Requested track (through the use of the Request window or break code) then a tone will play when it gains focus. In addition, you will hear the name of the person who requested the track. Key Toggle Announcements such as the Microphone, Pause key, Mute status, etc, can now be either announced via speech or a short series of tones can be played to alert the user. Toggle between settings with Control-Shift-S. A sound can be configured to play when the feature is enabled and disabled. These sounds can be configured in the StationPlaylist Studio Script Preferences. Reorganized the Script Menus for the Studio scripts and added many new options. The new options were removed as hotkeys from the Studio Scripts to consolidate all configuration logic into the menus with the exception of the Preferences dialog. Removed the following hotkeys: Studio Key Help (Insert-W - merged with standard help in Insert-H), Watch Event Resets, Email Author, Select Sound Card, Hotkey Global State Manager, Alert Time Settings, Time Interval Settings and Custom Track List Reading Settings. They are still available from the Apps menu in Window-Eyes. The Track List Find functionality was re-organized. No change should be seen by end-users. Fixed an issue with the GetStaticText function on shutdown of Studio. Fixed a reported bug in the GetControlKeys function. Corrected the dash key for cart assignments in Cart Learn Mode. Pressing the key would generate an error in Cart Learn Mode. Very extensive manual updates have been made. To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

Station Playlist Studio Scripts version 3.4.2 for Window-Eyes are now Available
Station Playlist Studio Scripts version 3.4.2 for Window-Eyes are now available. Here are the changes in this version: By popular demand, Window-Eyes 7.2 or later will now work with the Studio scripts. GW Toolkit Version 8.3.7 or later is required for this release. Watch Event Tracking Reset capability is now provided. Press Control-Insert-R to invoke the feature. You may use this if you feel alerts are not being performed as you might expect. Toggle Warning type Alert notifications from speech to a tone with the Control-Shift-W key. A change to the Braille Clock time has been made. In prior versions a key on the Braille display had to be pressed to turn off the Clock display. Now, pressing the Time hotkey (Insert-T) twice quickly while Braille is showing the time will cancel the display. The Messages configuration dialog hotkey has been removed so that it doesn't conflict with Qwitter . The function can still be accessed by using the Scripts or Apps menu depending on your version of Window-Eyes. A bug with removing messages from the Messages dialog has been fixed. The Message Maintenance functionality now only allows for Beginner and Advanced message strings. Intermediate messages have been removed from the treeview. Those messages previously defined as Intermediate will be treated as Advanced messages. During the installation process prior messages that were defined as Intermediate are migrated to Advanced Messages unless an Advanced Message already exists. In that case the item will be removed. Added logic to the CheckForChangedKeys function so that Key Functions that get renamed from version to version are now updated without user-intervention. This insures that all functionality continues from version to version. Debug data logic is now written to a separate log file. The City List now doesn't show the SamEncoder Hotkeys as a city name. Corrected the Script Menu Use Different Sound Card logic. A small number of manual updates were made. Skype for Windows version 5.3.0.116 is released and you can download it at http://goo.gl/ZDji This is a hotfix for Skype that fixes Skype crashing which was being experienced by a small number of Skype users. The details are below: Peter Parkes on May 26, 2011. Earlier today, a corruption occured in a small percentage of users' systems that resulted in some of our community not being able to sign in to Skype. We issued some instructions which would allow you to get back online, but understand that they're fairly technical, and have been working hard to produce a version of Skype for Windows which fixes this problem automatically. If you're using Skype for Windows, and have experienced problems logging in, please update Skype to the latest version now . We plan to release an update to Skype for Mac tomorrow.
