Terri, You can buy a demagnetizer from a store such as Radio Shack. You need to be sure that you know where the tape heads on your machine are located. Some demagnetizers have a rubber-tipped object that is run lightly over the tape head with a horizontal motion. The rubber tip is essential

Terri, this problem is usually a function of the tape recorder. You might get some improvement if you clean the heads of both the playback and record heads of the machine. A cotton swab with denatured alcohol is best for this unless you have special head cleaner stuff. Also, if you should have
