Discussing batteries and chargers, what does trickle charge mean exactly? Apparently, some manufacturers (e.g. Quantum) mean a charger function for maintaining the batteries charged after the normal charging cycle is complete. That means that if you need the batteries you can use them after

This is really an unfortunate problem. Pentax ought to do a recall frankly. That lens had a reputation as one of the sharpest in its class (ie, best in its price range). Now it has a reputation as one of the highest failure rate in its class. Who cares that it's failing out of warranty;

I saw those in ebay and almost bid. Just to learn how to take lenses apart, but they went for more than I was willing... I wonder if you could use some type of high temperature grease, that way it wont melt down into other components when it gets too warm, like in the sun. rg Don
