Well, thanks to Graywolf's suggestion, I got a Belkin powered hub and that
seems to have fixed the problem. I removed then reinstalled the Memorex software
and now I can access the flash card reader. It still shows as a removable
drive rather than the little Memorex icon that is supposed to

Windows Update should be on your start bar.
Otherwise, look for drivers on a CD that came with the camera.

That's correct. A Powershot A60 requires to install some software from the
CD that came with the camera, before the computer recognizes the camera.

If windows is mounting either of the 2 devices correctly, you should
see an additional disk drive when you look at my computer. I imagine
if it's reading them as removable drive mediums, that you're just not
looking for it there . . .
