I see this from work, on a cheapish, uncalibrated ViewSonic monitor.
In the upper corner on the RH side there's some posterization that
doesn't look like the outline of the background forest though it has
the same hue and tone.
Nice. Kingfishers are such superb looking birds. I've never managed to
photograph one successfully (apart from our Kookaburra, which is a very
large kingfisher)
I agree with others that the image looks oversharpened, particularly the
larger version. The smaller version looks much better.

From the look of it and sorta confirmed by your an earlier comment or two, I'd
say it is pulled up a bunch. With some fairly aggressive sharpening and a
nudge or two of contrast, you've given it a version of definition.

My rule of thumb for birds of that size is 500mm f4 with a 1.4x
