In camera cropping simply refers to how you frame the photo. You try to get close enough to the subject, to fill most of the frame and place it where you'll want it to be in the final print. Sometimes that's impossible to do, but that's all it means. It requires a bit of pre-visualization

If I remember right, the Chicks Pool Hall building is a very bold green, and the building immediately to photo right is a bright yellow. But I don't really remember. And just to clear up, this is on black and white film, so there's no going back for this shot. Which is what I was talking about.
