I've been using a borrowed MZ-S for the past couple of days and find it's
not for me.
What exactly you didn't like about the MZ-S? Just curious...

Gee, do you think Pentax will cancel the release and production of these
cameras, or just cancel your birthdays?
The part about birthdays came to my mind (quite a scary thought, isn't it?)
;-)
I guess the worst that could happen is that you will be taken off the
list of people that are given
They have released those FAJ lenses and the world's smallest SLR
*ist. Nothing for us...
Well, I, for one, think 11-point AF and 16-segment metering are at least
worth mentioning. I also kinda like the shape of the camera, though I'd like
to look at the top plate first.

So
ideal viewfinder would be something like the one on LX or MX...
Oh yes - that'd be very nice, though being used to the wonderful MX
viewfinder I've no problem looking through the MZ-S. The newer viewfinder is
more contrasty and brighter (I think), and therefore the difference isn't
that
I expect that it will support K mount lenses
but maybe not in all modes (i.e. not Program or shutter priority).
It can't suuport plain K mount lenses in Program or shutter priority,
because they have no electrical contacts. Even the good, old Super A doesn't
offer Program or shutter priority
BD Any thoughts?
Bruce, wait until the digital slr is confirmed. Otherwise you'll end
up with an *ist that missed its purpose.
I'd take Alin's advice, Bruce and wait just a little bit longer. If you
finally decide to sell the MZ-S, and wouldn't mind splitting the package, I
think I'd buy
The first thing I'd suggest is to have slides made using both autofocus
and manual focus, and see which is sharper.
I guess I'll have to do this.
You may need a dioptre
setting that falls between two of the pre-supplied settings.
It's quite possible, the last time I checked my left eye (the
Possibly not, but in that case you'll just have to set it to the closest
approximate setting and trust the autofocus to do its job properly.
Hopefully an $800 US camera can be trusted to do that. :)
I certainly hope so :-) Though the difference will probably be only visible
when using open
Lukasz,
I've had a few e-mails to you bounce back to me. I've just sent you

It arrived safely (both of them :-)
