Hi Ken -
I compared my K-5 and K-3 base plates and even tried a few
measurements. The K-3 plate is slightly longer in the side to side
Beautiful photo, Ken. I spent a week at Grand Marais a few years ago -
great place!

Thought this wayback image might warm some us up. We're heading for
the minus temperatures this evening.

I've used it on the few snow crystals I've shot this season. I don't see
any differences between focus peaking on the K-3 and the K-01 or Q (the
other bodies I've used with this feature). To zoom you hit the OK button
and spin the rear dial for a maximum magnification of 10x.

That's good to know - I might indulge in some MM's. I use the plastic
cans that JC used to pack their house brands and others in. I do have a
couple of cans that came with some C41 IR film I had that have ML
markings on them - some sort of lab sampling container, I guess. Come to
think of it,
I just tried my DA 16-45 with a Sigma 1.4 AF teleconverter on a Pz-1p.
There is little light falloff visible in the viewfinder and any focal
lengeth, though I don't think I can reach a conclusion based on that. I
don't trust my eyes to see a couple EV in light drop off, which would be

That *does* deserve the only in Vegas moniker... Nice shot.

I am not using Adobe cloud at this time, but one question I wonder about
is how it handles updates. I updated to PS CS 6 several months ago and,
as usual, it takes some time to get used to the changes. I inevitably
find the changes / upgrades to be beneficial, but there are also times
were I

Nice shot - it reminds me of an old photo you might in a shoe box and
spend some time trying to decipher.

Wouldn't second monitor support be an OS function independent of the
application itself? Does PSE not let you pull the palates and images
wherever you want on the screen? I agree that the lack of curves and 16
bit support is severely crippling

That would certainly bee another significant limitation to PSE. I am
using Windows PC's and have never used any menus in PS for enabling the

That works very well - the images flow very naturally...

I have both of those lenses. Working distance on the 50mm is pretty
tight if you want magnification at 1:1 or so. The 100 mm gives you a
lot more room.
I bought my 50 for use in extreme macro situations - reverse mounted on
extension tubes or bellows. You can easily get to 4x to even 10x
I use an Mz-S a fair amount. Last summer I used an *ist film body quite
a bit and really loved it, but the shutter button stopped working back
in November. So now it is the Mz-S, LX or Pz-1p for 35mm, and the 6x7
for MF.
