Well, you can always wait for 645D which seems to have dual cards
slot :-)

Maybe you need a new computer. The real question might be how much larger
would the K10D be if it used CF cards. You can't really compare the D and
the K10D as they have a different set of features and design. Or, another
way of looking at it might be to consider how much smaller the D would be

That does not compute. The *istD is smaller than the K10D, yet has a CF

You've seen and handled both the D DS, how much different are they WRT size?
Of the *ist range the only other one I've handled is the DL
The dimensions are 125 x 92.5 x 66 for the DS and 129 x 95 x 60 for the D
but the D feels much larger because it's design is a little different.

My theory is that they got so much flack for the implementation of the
CF slot on the *ist-D that marketing decided to use something harder to
complain about.

Just for the record the D isn't much different size than the Ds/Dl/2
body cameras. The actually looks smaller when they are near each other
due to the different shapes of the prism/RTF housing, until you look
closer, and you realize they just have slightly different shapes.

That's what I thought.
Which leads to the point I was obtusely trying to make. One uses CF, the
other uses SD there is very little physical difference between them.
So when people argue that SD cards make for a smaller camera, I can't help
thinking that it's not that big a factor.

Maybe I'm stupid, but it seems to me that the pentamirror/pentaprism
takes up _a_ _lot_ more room than an SD or CF card interface.

I am sure Pentax can do the same.

I just rang Digital City (formerly Fletchers Fotographics) here in Canberra

find out when it will be available, what lens it will be sold with and what
price (although CR Kennedy have already told me $1499 with lens).
