No it won't. If the camera is "ISO Invariant" (and there are lists
The analog amplifier inside (and even in ISO invariant cameras) will
still get you a better amplification of the darker portions than the
pseudo amplification using the digital values through post processing.

In truth I write only relatively benign scripts for car dealers trying to get
their lease customers to re-up and/or turn in their car early. Much of it is

The K-3 and K-5 can easily sustain a 2ev boost in the shadows. The K-5
more so. I underexpose by 2ev quite often to retain highlights and
push in post.

I've shot extensively with both K5 and K3. A 2EV push creates some shadow
noise. If you're okay with that it's fine, but I find I can retain highlights
at a correct or nearly correct exposure. Of course how one meters has a lot to
do with that.
