I would like to start pida, without installing it. (in fact, I would
like to modify the code, and see what happens. And dont want recreate
every time a .deb package).
I said a run-pida.sh in the root directory.
When I start it, the pida splash screen pops up, but nothing else
happens.

if I delete my pida folder (rm -rf ~/.pida2), after restarting it (./
run-pida.sh) it pops up for selecting an editor (Emacs, Mooedit, Vim).
* If I choose emacs:
it prints to the console:
[Errno 2] No such file or directory
and pida quits. (I assume no emacs inst
Hi Khiraly, in general I woulds say that running uninstalled is for
developers, because you are likely to have these kind of problems. The
causes are simple though,

I was reading the mailing list, and noticed, that many people have
trouble to getting working medit and pida.
So I made it available. (for ubuntu 7.10, but maybe is applicable to
8.04-dev (hardy heroin) too)

I think pida need improvement of file browsing capabilities.
So I tried collecting ideas, and I post here of getting feedback about
these ideas.
I. File browser inside pida (Ctrl-Shift-F)
It need the ".." in the list.
Right now it is not easy to go a directory

I guess I'll have to add my suggestions there too, as i'm feeling some lacks
in pida browser. It's just my humble opinion about features that'd feel
great in pida, not any shouting. If one day I'm able to code better than
pitifully in python, and find time to do it, i'll probably contribute to
