new requirements for naming of preferences.

That menu is now cached ... so if you change the filter then will take
up to 10 minutes to have an effect.
Hopefully that is the reason.

a feed into the presence routines in GH ... however, I don't see how to
enable that.
Perhaps it is not turned on in all countries yet.

nothing to do with me being clever.
Everything that I have seen so far is MP3 and it supports seeking -
again this is nothing that I did, it is the nature of their on-demand
content provision.
