suppose it would be easy enough to add this to your work flow so that

One can always point iTunes to their music files ( non flac) and load

got it. so my idea wouldn't work. (although if you'd like the idea of
your friends being able to click on a link and see ALL your recently
played tracks, giving them all a link to your last.fm account will work
(with last.fm scrobbling turned on on your squeezebox side of things)
