Good morning Philippe, with your latest dev-version of Airplaybridge LMS seems to crash - most likely due to the absence of the option for an armv5hf binary which was the one that worked with my NAS. What do you mean with "have you updated LMS"? My LMS Version is 7.9.0-163. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Using plugin to get Internet radio track data from web site
I can see how to get the data from the broadcaster's web site but can someone give me some pointers for how to get the plugin called periodically? Look into Slim::Formats::RemoteMetadata. Register a data provider which will be called as soon as your station is being called. Then run some polling code (Slim::Utils::Timer) to update the data as long as you're streaming that station. You might need to check yourself whether you're still streaming that station, and stop timers accordingly. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

But... Since Triode has left this platform I don't see any development of the plug-in anymore and has the interaction for this thread died. If not, can someone please react on the sudden bug of the playlist option in the menu. All other menuitems seem to work ok. ... tbh I fear the days of Triode's Spotify plugin are counted. It is using library Spotify has declared deprecated several years ago. I guess they're about to pull the plug on it. There's not much we can do about that. The alternative solution (use the official Spotify implementation and the Spotify Protocol Handler plugin) might be around just a little bit longer. But it's using the same library for playback. Yes, I would like it to emit less light but also so that it could serve an additional function since I will need to make space for it in my rack. A simple clock like what the touch offers would be nice or if we could save some photos in a folder that could provide a digital picture frame function. I have tried using an iphone 4S on a Pure I20 dock in the past that sounded great but it would not stay awake so I constantly had to wake it up and sometimes kill and relaunch Ipeng to make the player active again. If I were to use an ipad as a player, which I hope to do, I would hope to both take advantage of the screen when not in use and avoid the troubles I had with the iphone. I have an aging Ipad 2 that could work in this role nicely. I am sure there are other owners of older Apple hardware that would appreciate a new useful application for our old device. I would even pay another fee for this added functionality. usc95's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59694 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

fraho wrote: > I removed pcm after the logfile was generated, so yes I'm sure and no, I > can't hear anything. But from the Web UI it looks as if the stream would > start for about 2 to 4 seconds and then it stops. I found something strange and force a paramater value, please try the version in the *dev* repository. The long explanation is that LMS can instruct a player to take the stream directly from the source instead acting as a proxy if the player accepts the audio format. LMS will proxy data either because the audio is encoded into a format that is unknown by the player or if the audio is streamed using a protocol that players do not understand. In the latter case a "protocol handler" is used to transform a source stream into something that LMS will understand and that what's the YT plugin does. In some cases, a "protocol handler" can do simple things like redirecting to another link, in which case it can still tell LMS that this new link can be streamed directly by the player (pending LMS's decision on audio codec) Well, YT files are in ogg format which is NOT accepted by AirPlay bridge *and* I thought that by default anyway, a protocol handler does not allow direct streaming so, diect streaming shoumd never have been requested by LMS to the player. But is seems that it is. I don't have all the logs, especially I'm missimg the "simproto loglevel", but I suspect this is the issue. The change I'm made explicitely disable direct streaming in the plugin - let's see. LMS 7.7.5 - 5xRadio, 3xBoom, 4xDuet, 1xTouch, 1 SB2. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
I have an old iPod Touch in a 30 pin dock that is a fixed player but I have to wake it up. There is a slight flaw in the old iPad as fixed player idea. To be always on you are going to tie up the lightning adapter so you are going to be limited to the iPad's onboard dac. Does anyone know if there is some kind of adapter that would let you use the lightning connector for both power and the Camera Connector to a USB DAC? That would be an awesome Touch replacement. *Vortexbox LMS 7.9 music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets *Living Room* - SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s - Zone 2 -> Sony TA FE 320 -> Sennheiser RS 130 & B P7 *Office* - RPi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV)* - Amazon Fire TV (SB Player) -> Topping TP20 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I've had similar problem with HLS - as both DASH and HLS are delivered by the same CDNs, server and BBC sources. Theoretically 1.5.2 should be better (lower host network & server load) as it uses HTTP 1.1 over a persistent TCP connection (i.e TCP connection is kept open for many HTTP Get) but there is a flaw in HTTP 1.1. spec where handling of timeouts is not well defined. Start delay is really only for Windows and is only there to help the startup of the socketwrapper transcoding chain typically on low end PC systems. It will no really do anything on Linux except change the start time of the stream (i.e. the timecode of the first packet). You have a problem not getting a packet in the middle of streaming. It is possible there is a [problem with stream getting ahead of the stream in the servers - if this is the case then it is a bug in the DASH implementation. Again Start time won't change this behaviour. Any messages especially 4xx (e,g. 404 not available , 403 forbidden etc.) in the log ? Following comments from BBC streaming engineer saying they see 404's being sent but I cannot reproduce this issue but I have found a possible bug. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106409 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Sounds like either there's an error being sent by the menu (TIDAL and Pandora are both menus provided by MySqueezebox.com or ickStream, in TIDAL's case) or the server for some reason disconnects. The latter could happen if e.g. the command you send somehow locks up the server. What are you running your server on again? [SlimDevices: Plugins] Using plugin to get Internet radio track data from web site
Hello,. I'm looking into writing a plugin to provider track meta data because the ICY metadata is empty. I can see how to get the data from the broadcaster's web site but can someone give me some pointers for how to get the plugin called periodically? I can't do it on stream metadata change because the data within the stream does not change. Ideally should be reconfigurable interval because the broadcaster web info shows when the next track is due ... so I could say "call me back in X seconds". I have looked at the Orange Liveradio plugin and Michael's DRS one but they seem to rely on the metadata in the stream changing.
