Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Last.fm scrobbling from LMS with no Internet
I set the 'What Was That Tune?' log to debug and played a few tracks this morning. The output is below. Looks like when it powers up it starts from a timestamp of midnight, 70/01/01 (1 Jan 1970?). What do you think the ts => ### three digit number represents - maybe the number of seconds after the first timestamp that each track began (or ended?) playing? Lack of clock the Pi would start with a unix timestamp of 0. Which is the date you mentioned. The timestamps in the log file are Unix timestamps, seconds since January 1 1970, midnight. That log snippet shows that the plugin actually is working. but you're saying you wouldn't see anything about it in the menus? What about the "now playing" track information menu? Not even there? ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

If you apply soft volume, your SNR will decrease accordingly to the ratio you apply, i.e. maybe around ~20dB for mid-volume. You might not lose these if you send them to a 24 bits DAC but don't forget that now you have an analogue signal which is 10~20 times less (0.05~0.1V instead of 1V) and then you have to make sure that that this potential benefit is not lost in the rest of your chain (how much noise it brings back when amplifying more to get you to a comfortable level). So padding does not add anything, there is no extra information created. Now if you want to transform (divide) the input, for sure we are back to the initial comment that larger integers are needed for interim calculation and your 24 bits DAC falls under that. When adding all the rest will it be noticeably better... oh well, then this thread should probably move to the audiophile one which is not for me :) LMS 8.2 on Odroid-C4 - *SqueezeAMP!*, 5xRadio, 5xBoom, 2xDuet, 1xTouch, 1xSB3. I am attempting to get the bridge to play to a Moode renderer feeding a Topping E30. Strange things are happening. Passthrough doesn't appear to work at all. If I set transcode to PCM then it plays but will often stop unexpectedly. The track progress time often counts up to around 6 seconds before returning to zero while music continues to play. Gapless playback sometimes works and other times doesn't and sometimes playback will stop at the end of a track and not play remaining tracks in the playlist. Interesting to read this, and thanks for the tip. As mentioned in a previous post, I want to use the Pi as a stand alone, portable media player (sometimes offline), controlled from my phone, that I can power on and start using without any faffing, so wouldn't want to be setting the date every day I use it. Not quite sure where the Pi would get the time setting in this solution either? I think, perhaps, I'm expecting too much of the Pi and pCP to enable offline use whilst storing log/Scrobble information - but no doubt pCP will become more sophisticated over time. I think the best potential solution is putting a battery backed-up real time clock such as this on the board (assuming it'll fit in my Flirc case) and somehow getting pCP to read the time from it: https://thepihut.com/products/macete...eal-time-clock Cheers Andy - Synology D218+ running LMS 8.1.1 in Docker container - 1 x Squeezebox Touch, 2 x Squeezebox Radios, 1 x Squeezebox Receiver, Squeeze Player & Squeeze Ctrl apps on Galaxy Tab S5e & Galaxy A40 - Raspberry Pi 4B 8GB (with 7" Touchscreen in case & Flirc USB IR dongle) & Pi 4B 8GB in Flirc case, both running piCorePlayer 8.0.0 & LMS 8.1.1, connecting over Wi-fi to DS218+, or LMS library copy on 2TB USB hard drive plugged into Pi when no Wi-fi available - LMS library of ALAC, ACC/M4A and MP3 files AndyTwizzle's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=53445 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114797 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I think the answer said the zeroes were added for resolution when doing calculations. They do not add information (e.g. do not add more audio details) to the original number but allow calculation to be done more accurately. Each CD quality PCM sample is 16 bits but to do accurate calculation you need more than 16 bits and so 32 bits is used as that is convenient for processing. Information is a odd concept - with the original punch card - the information is the position of the holes - so the card only keeps the holes in place. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114947 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

AFAIR, LMS strips out the mp3 header when sending the audio data. The slimproto "play" message sent to players contains the replaygain and an HTTP link where to get the audio data (with header stripped). So a normal player will use replaygain to X the samples. (Sometimes I notice two bottles of the same wine taste a little different and I can repeatedly pass a ABx test, but sometimes I fail the ABx test.) Your point about listening to the music and not wanting to turn it off is a good point. Back when the ipod was the big thing, I could not listen to my ipod for a more than about a hour. The sound was harsh to me. I had to switch back to simple radio on my car. My current iPad is acceptable sound while I am driving. Sorry for detracting from topic of this thread, but my point is be sure you are actually hearing a difference when making various changes. I am not saying you cannot hear a difference, but using the a ABx method is a better way to validate. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)
I wanted to setup Youtube API today and it was not working. I got this error in the log with some JSON following: Code: [21-08-09 16:15:20.3710] Slim::Networking::IO::Select::__ANON__ (130) Error: Select task failed calling Slim::Networking::Async::_async_read: Can't use an undefined value as an ARRAY reference at /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/YouTube/API.pm line 97. ; fh=Slim::Networking::Async::Socket::HTTPS=GLOB(0x81a3770) [21-08-09 16:16:42.8351] Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1341) Warning: [16:16:42.8346] do { I then manually opened up the URL it was trying to connect to in a browser and got a response saying I have to activate the key, which was possible and it now works. THIS STEP OF EXTRA ACTIVATION SEEMS TO BE MISSING IN THE DESCRIPTION FOR SETTING UP AN API KEY IN THE LMS GUI WHEN NO KEY IS YET APPLIED. Also, I think the OAuth-process might be a bit different now. Maybe we have to setup a test user. It's not working yet for me, altough I got the 8 digit code and authorized it and got a "successfull". I had to chose a platform for my app and used "Desktop". bvrulez's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105840 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Soundcloud plugin for squeezeserver
I'm the current maintainer of the plugin. The codebase is located at https://github.com/danielvijge/SqueezeCloud SoundCloud sent me an email about upcoming changes to the authorisation: https://developers.soundcloud.com/blog/security-updates-api I haven't looked into this yet. Currently busy moving homes and a short holiday. If someone already wants to take a look at it, a pull request is always welcome. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] All own applications gone in web GUI
Anyway, I think this could be handled better. Why are my *local* LMS apps gone, when connecting to mysqueezebox.com fails, which does not even show or provide them anyway? I think this should be fixed in 8.1.2 or 8.2.0. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] All own applications gone in web GUI
I SOLVED the problem. The reason was I recently changed the password of mysqueezebox.com. This was visible in the server.log. Anyway, I think this could be handled better. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Picore - Squeezelite 32 bit length padding
ok Paul & Phillippe I`m "trusting the science" still not getting the jab but in this case i`m going to stop self medicating Already sounds better -- lol i`m serious default settings with a clear mind, comfortable with the fact changing all those setting variables, power modes etc is not going to make a meaningful difference. i feel liberated. you should "Sticky" Phillipe`s explanation of the process and scientific answer to my questions all those variables are just too tempting to play with. i listen pretty much all day every day my test for audio equipment is pretty simple -- if i can listen for extended periods without just wanting to turn the damn thing off then its good. if it keeps me engaged then it is great. so far so good again dont want to offend anyone but SOX upsampling what am i missing here ? it really makes me think it is not working properly on my machine because to me all it seems to do is hammer away at the presence range or something -- no matter what settings i put there, that is my takeaway -- all other differences between settings are just a distraction from this bigger issue. when i started to think this was the case -- i focused on a couple albums with some high frequency problems Cannonball Adderly Something Else (RVG form 99 or something ) and steely Dan Katie Lied phasey, splashy symbols on black friday extreme noise at beginning of Autumn Leaves every setting i have tried in SOX basically eliminates both those "problems" - to the point that with some settings i dont really hear symbols at all on black friday if someone wants to argue that those are alias distortions being removed - they should look up and read "katie had a bug" -- splashy symbols were there the whole time -- even on L.P. pretty sure i had that on LP back in the 80`s and pretty sure that is how i always remember that album sounding. seems maybe the chip makers know what they are doing with those cascade of filters -- maybe people should "trust the science" there also if someone wants to post some sox configuration that makes both those songs sound good without completely removing the "problems" i would love to try it also i would entertain any argument that says both those "problems" are actually the result of bad chip filtering - that those are aliases that shouldnt be there -- i`m just looking for the truth I understand people are not interested in accuracy when using sox but the corrupting of the original signal by one simple filter seems extreme to me. one question about this padding -- i still plan to A/B that again sometime but whatever how does it work with the software volume control again i could be wrong, and i did most of this reading a couple years ago, but i read that it is good to pad if using software volume control because as you reduce volume you are reducing dynamic range or something and the padding provides a buffer against this anyone know what i am talking about and provide simple explanation ? oshcar's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71999 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114947 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] All own applications gone in web GUI
I just applied my key for SqueezeCloud (soundcloud plugin) and tested it. Then I restarted the server because I added some other plugin from the inactive plugins list and from 3rd party. After the restart I don't find any plugins available any more under "Eigene Anwendungen" (probably "Own Apps" or something). Any ideas? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Soundcloud plugin for squeezeserver
I just checked out the SoundCloud plugin for LMS that is offered in version 0.11 by contributers Siebert, Gibbon, Blackman etc. Is this the one discussed here? I am unsure where to look for more instructions or the codebase as this is nowhere in the settings or description. I can play playlists via this plugin after I registered my API key. But I can not load a soundcloud URL to play, I am getting "Unauthorized". It would be nice if the plugin would provide more information about where it is from. bvrulez's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92723 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Carrying on I added the following to Tweaks 35445 Then I rebooted the Pi and it came up with the date as tomorrow. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Last.fm scrobbling from LMS with no Internet
I did a little digging today. If you shell on to your Pi you can manually set the date & time with the "date" command. Code: date -s 2021-08-10 will set the date/time to 00:00 10 AUG 2021 ie. tomorrow Code: date -s 2021-08-10 03:00 will set the date/time to 03:00 10 AUG 2021 ie. tomorrow Here are the date command options Usage: date [OPTIONS] [+FMT] [TIME] Display time (using +FMT), or set time [-s,--set] TIME Set time to TIME -u,--utcWork in UTC (don't convert to local time) -R,--rfc-2822 Output RFC-2822 compliant date string -I[SPEC]Output ISO-8601 compliant date string SPEC='date' (default) for date only, 'hours', 'minutes', or 'seconds' for date and time to the indicated precision -r,--reference FILE Display last modification time of FILE -d,--date TIME Display TIME, not 'now' -D FMT Use FMT for -d TIME conversion Recognized TIME formats: hh:mm[:ss] [.]MM.DD-hh:mm[:ss] -MM-DD hh:mm[:ss] [YY]YY]MM]DD]hh]mm[.ss] 'date TIME' form accepts MMDDhhmm[[YY]YY][.ss] instead VB2.4[/B] STORAGE *QNAP TS419P (NFS) [B]Living Room* Joggler & Pi4/Khadas -> Onkyo TXNR686 -> Celestion F20s *Office* Joggler & Pi3 -> Denon RCD N8 -> Celestion F10s *Dining Room* SB Boom *Kitchen* UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* Pi Zero+DAC ->ToppingTP21 ->AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV) & Bathroom* SB Touch ->Denon AVR ->Mordaunt Short M10s + Kef ceiling speakers *Guest Room* Joggler > Topping Amp -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes Everything controlled by iPeng & Material on iOS d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114797 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
