I agree, the meta data fields are really built for individual tracks and streaming radio is very much up to individual interpretation and the context being used. Then, when a track plays, l temporarily populate the "[title] by [artist]" plus track image if available. I find that works best for hardware radio displays which is my main use case. There is a minor bug where the plugin records that there is a minute remaining to listen on the program even though you have listened to the end (its caused by how often the plugin sends a listening heartbeat to the BBC API) but I'm not aware of any inaccurate recording. Which works on the whole. However these 2 bug reports are reporting something different, prolonged stuttering happening at any point, including live radio. Which I can't reproduce. But the 2 reports are in agreement about the same problem, and they are both using the community firmware. But as I say, it just may be coincidence. Interestingly, I remember when I implemented the throttling that the problem was easily reproducible. The odd thing now is, with this latest release of the firmware, I can't reproduce the problem at all, even if I set the throttling to zero, effectively turning it off. (Although i can see the impact the throttling has on the speed the input buffer on the radio fills up) So, the fact is they are getting the stuttering even with the throttling suggests this isn't the same issue at all, and something else is happening on their radio affecting the CPU time available for decoding. Also it all might be a coincidence that I got 2 reports at the same time, and they may not be related, I mentioned it here in case it was more widespread. I have had a couple of bugs raised on the BBC Sounds Plugin repository relating to audio stuttering : https://github.com/expectingtofly/LMS_BBC_Sounds_Plugin/issues/134 Both reports are using Squeezebox radio's with the community firmware. The BBC Streams are AAC 320kbs@48000, so quite high bitrate. They have provided server logs to me that shows that there are no issues getting audio data out server side (in fact the opposite is true). So it appears the problem is in the audio decoding on the radio. As I have had 2 reports of this problem, I wonder if this has anything to do with the AAC decoding changes in the new version of the firmware? Release 2.25.7 is a maintenance release It contains improvements to the handling of the security tokens. My understanding has improved of how the tokens work (that was a fun time staring and session and identity cookies!) so, once you are signed in, you should remain signed in permanently until you explicitly sign out. To be honest, the xpath module I put in is a legacy thing really, left
over from when the plugin had to do a lot of web scraping. It only has
to do a very small amount now to get to some embedded JSON from a web
page, so I think I'll just remove it and find a different way and save
myself a headache working out the dependency problem!

There is only a bit of caching going on in the plugin when you view a podcast list (for 10 minutes) The plugin is going via the Global API which is the direct route (and the same as their mobile app), so i'm not sure why it would be different. @cpd73 In the package I've included a "BBCSoundsIcon.svg" which is the monochrome svg which Material selects automatically.I've also included a colour version of the same icon in the package and named it using the convention "BBCSoundsIcon_color.svg".Obviously that is unused, but I included it as a suggestion for a convention if you wanted to provide a colour app icon option in your theming in the future. The problem I was wrestling with is that I'm obliged to follow their branding to keep within what's allowed under their distribution policy, but their branding is so bland that it is essentially a colour, the 3 boxes don't really represent anything recognisable as their brand once the colour is gone. So I compromised with including the monochrome BBC logo so it could be themed, but with the orange splash underneath for the Material icon. This is similar to their Android BBC Sounds icon which is what I used for the standard LMS png icon. I've got no strong views on this, and happy to switch, but just as an aside (and I'm not an expert either!), I agree that Material "action" icons should be monochrome, but should (what are essentially) "app" icons be monochrome? I don't see that in Material themed apps elsewhere. e.g. the right side bar on Google Sheets or Google Docs to access embedded apps are represented by Material style colour app icons (for google calendar, Maps, contacts and add-ons etc). Release 2.24.0 includes : NEW FEATURE - Skip back to preceding programmes on live radio by using the '<<' and '>>' controls When listening to live radio, pressing '<<' takes you back to the start of the programme. Immediately pressing '<<' a second time rewinds to the start of the preceding programme. You can rewind to programmes up to 5 hours in the past. Pressing '>>' skips forward to the start of the following programme, or if you are listening to the current live programme, it returns you to live. I must admit, when testing this feature, I found it very convenient, it seems to match with how I listen to the radio. Turning on the radio, choosing a live radio preset, then pressing '<<' a few times to get to a programme on earlier seems to fit in with how I listen to the radio. Hope you find it useful too. As @bpa say, functionally there should be no difference between your SB2 and SB3, they have the same insides, as I understand it. So I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to suggest. Presumably the problem lies in the connection between the SB2 and your server, but I can't explain why you only get the connectivity problem with BBC Sounds. If you move your SB2 into the same position as your SB3 do you get the same behaviour? Ps. you should not have "force http streaming" turned on, I suggest turning that off again.. I remember it was a bit of a pain to install LMS on it as I had to compile the LMS 'perl CPAN distribution' (https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver-vendor/tree/public/8.3/CPAN) myself. So I suspect that is the source of the problem, the CPAN that came with your 7.9.3 distribution of LMS. I think upgrading your LMS to 8.2 or 8.3 will indeed solve the problem. Also, the LMS improvements of 8.3 over 7.9.3 really are worth having. If you don't use your raspberry pi for anything other than hosting LMS, I do recommend simply installing picoreplayer on it instead, it makes installing LMS a simple few simple clicks with no messing about. I will set aside some time in the coming weeks to set up some perl memory leak debugging just in case there is something there that might not get cleaned up in certain circumstanced, just in case. But I understand one has to work quite hard to create a memory leak in perl!
