to all my players around the house at the same time (Thank you), If its
streaming from the Mac and I'm in the Kitchen which is a squeezebox
radio, it could be handy to skip a track. Not sure if the skip command

I played a little bit with the meta data.
It seems to me that the meta data is not reset when there is a track
played with e.g. missing album cover.
When the track changes to one with a missing album cover, the cover from
the track played before is kept in cache...

I'm having an issue. Apparently I can stream to a player, metadata
appears on the Logitech Media Server (cover, track name, artist, etc)
but I get no sound.

According to the shairtunes2 github page you need to install 3 CPAN
modules first (Crypt::OpenSSL::RSA, IO::Socket::INET6 and Net::SDP). I'm

I think that I have solved my problem. There appears to be a
configuration conflict in that the /etc/hosts had raspberrypi as the
name whilst /etc/hostname had max2play. So I have changed the setting
in /etc/hosts and it seems to have done the trick.

Same here. I am glad metadata and cover art are back, but automatically
turning the player off and on between songs is kind of annoying. This
behavior is definitely new. When turning the player off it also loses
its volume setting and sets it back to default when the device turns
back on.

Hi Verulamius,
when using Max2Play you just have to install Shairtunes2 by clicking on
"install" on the Squeezebox Server tab of the Max2Play web interface (no
console or SSH needed). Second thing is, to make sure that Shairport on
the Audioplayer tab is not running (deactivate autostart)

Reason I asked is I used AirPlay from iTunes on my PC to my Touch and it

I tried this patch to fix the problem I have where my phone sees the
Squeezebox but no sound comes out. One time I managed to get
static/noise with this patch, but so far no joy. Any other ideas? I do

Could you share some details about how you got this working?
I have to say, this saved me from buying an Apple TV or other device to
play Apple Music on my stereo. I took apart an old iPod Touch 4th gen
and got it working by replacing all the innards and will try to use it
with this plugin.

has changed. There is also no new unknown data send by airplay i could

a Raspberry PI 2 - this is what happened:
- Airplay device is selectable
- playing something through iOS 9 results in LMS showing Shairtunes is
active but doesnt't play
- Shairport (also available on Max2Play) as

helper .c code. Can you try to manually use the "old" binary helper? If
this works - it would help me to find the root cause.

players as AirPlay devices, however when I play something to one of the
devices from my MacBook, the track in LMS changes to "Shairtunes Track",

Okay yeah it sounds like we have different goals. What others are trying

I use Shairtunes 2 on a Linux/Daphile LMS. It's rather closed system and
in fact it's my only option.
Upgrading from 0.12 to 0.17 was real success
I use it everyday now, it's very stable !
When used in part of a multiroom it's also quite good. It's not perfect
yet but I can easily keep
