You may try downgrading to LMS 7.9, reinstalling the plugin, and then
reupgrading to 8.0. This helped me with another plugin.

I run piCorePlayer/LMS/Youtube plugin on a Raspberry Pi quite a while.
Works great! Since yesterday Youtube isn't playing anymore. The
server.log file contains these messages:

then creating a new set of Youtube credentials on Google Console
Credentials but no luck. The plugin will play "recently Played" and I

Wow! I just did a dist-upgrade of my servers totally outdated Ubuntu
14.04 LTS to 16.06 LTS and a lot of my heavily customized stuff worked
out of the box plus: LMS AND the Youtube Plugin AND Playing Music from
Youtube!!!
The old sayin: "Have you tried to re-install everything..." ;-)
I went back to the Google Dashboard, deleted the Project, created a new
one and now it works!

I think I read on the plugin's page that it supports Youtube playlists.
It's not exactly autoplay, but it way be as easy as sending the playlist
ID to LMS.

I have You tube Plugin on one rpi installation running v7.9.3 which i
changed upto from v7.9.2
No other Plugins from philippe are available in versions 7.9.2 that I
have tried, Windows, armdeb, alldeb.
YouTube is visible now on third party plugins but it refuses to install
on LMS 8.0.0

YT was still having a 7.9 as a max version, hopefully it's corrected now
I wouldn't be too optimistic: changing a file without changing it's file
name often leads to issues with stale caches...

deleted old project and credentials, created new project and inserted
API key in YT, then apply and restart LMS. Search in YT works.

On a diferent topic - I don't suppose the plugin can play related
videos, as a youtube web version would, with autoplay enabled?
If I reach a video through search it seems that it generates a playlist
only from the search
