Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mobile / responsive skin
The Mobile Skin looks great and I'd very much like to use it but the main display sticks at the first entry on the playlist, no matter how many items there are. Browser dev tools show three script errors about properties of an undefined or null reference, which may be connected. Am I alone in seeing this? Any solutions? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mobile / responsive skin
I got this skin to work, very nice, thanks hephepphepp! I did find installing it a bit confusing. Installing it via the plugin page didn't seem to work. The logging showed a timeout on the url. Then I wanted to install it by hand, but the instructions were a bit confusing. I tried to follow these: >1. Download release.zip from > https://github.com/molobrakos/lms-mobileskin/releases/latest > 2. Check on the information-page in the LMS-settings for your > plugin-folders > 3. Copy (or symlink) the m/ directory to server skin directory (e.g. > /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/HTML/m) Example > > cp -a m /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/HTML/m > > 4. Restart LMS I didn't understand why I had to determine the plugin-folder, while the next step says to copy it to a HTML folder. But then I disovered the HTML folder is one directory up from the plugin folder. This is what I ended up doing: 1. Download and extract the zip file. 2. Copy only the "m" folder, found in the "HTML" folder from the zip file to the LMS html folder, which is one directy up from the plugin folder. So, when your plugin folder is: /share/HDA_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer/var/home/SqueezeboxServer/Plugins Then the HTML folder is: /share/HDA_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer/var/home/SqueezeboxServer/HTML After doing this, the mobile skin was accessible by typing "m" behind the URL of the LMS management page. By the way, we had the same idea at (roughly) the same time. I too wanted a web-based LMS controller, as I wanted it to be OS independent. But, I didn't know that LMS supported skins, and if I would have known, I wouldn't have had the skills to build one. :D I did have some (beginner) skills in Angular, so I build my own page to control LMS. When I presented my work to the slimdevices forum here (search for SqueezeWebRemote if interested), people pointed me to this skin.. :o Anyway, I will add a link to your github project on my SqueezeWebRemote webpage, so people know there is an easier solution. Again, hephepphepp: thank you for your work! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mobile / responsive skin
Please tell me more about the "slimbrowse" modes. I wasn't aware of it. It's basically the protocol SB Touch/Radio/Controller/etc. talk: the device wouldn't request "give me Spotify choices", but tell it "give me the menu". This would return the menu item's title, the command to be executed if chosen, metadata etc. I'll see whether I can extract some useful portions from the Controller App's code (which was written in JS/Sencha Touch). I'll try to have you something asap. If it would make things easier for both users and me while also provide more functionality for free with less work, I would happily try to implement it, I guess! It doesn't come for free :-). But while it might be a higher initial effort, you'll get new features for free. Eg. you won't have to bother about Bandcamp, Youtube, Qobuz, you name it. As long as those devs have done their homework, it should just work for you, too. I have mostly used the cli-api.html document for reference when implementing stuff and "slimbrowse" doesn't seem to be mentioned there. Heh... I don't even remember the actual command used. Might be "menu". Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mobile / responsive skin
I've run the skin on iOS 11, iPhone SE and iPad (2017), it works fine, it looks good. Contragulations! Some feedback, constructive hopefully: The repo link is nice, however you've make a requirement of version 7.9.1+, I was running 7.9.0 and didn't get the plugin to show up. I initially set "m" to be the default skin in preferences... bad move ;) To recover the usual skin I went to "http://:9000/classic/#" and changed server settings from there. I have counted 3 ways of changing player on iPhone SE: - swipe left or right, - select one of the segments of the dotted line below volume control, - hit one of the arrows to the left or right of the screen And one more on iPad: select the player by name in the dock at the bottom of the screen. For me, I don't think I would have use for the party mode or volumes buttons. I like the sync/unsync feature: for once I don't seem to sync with the wrong player... My players are set to *not* sync power state, so if I sync with a powered-off player, it doesn't start. To start it the only way I've found is to visit its page and hit Play. But in this case it starts from the beginning of the current song, not from the current position. Did some more testing in my envrionment & use case and found the following: - If I fill up the playlist manually the cover image + song info (title + artist) stays on the first track for as long as the playlist lasts - If I let LMS give me 1 random song or album and let Spicefly SugarCube take over from there all info changes according to the playing song I haven't tried yet with "Don't stop the music", but I'm fairly certain this wil work correctly as well. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mobile / responsive skin
So I've got two minor CSS related bugs, I'm mucking about with the CSS to see if I can get you a patch, but I'm a backend guy, not a web / css guy. Specifically I've 2 issues inside id="playerslist", I've got names that are too long (and thus extend the height of the lower navbar) this has the problem of covering up most of the lower controls the worst offending text seems to cause the text to be 4 lines tall. I've, also, got (right now) 13 squeezebox end points which means the navigation items disappear off the edge and can't be gotten to. Not sure how to deal with the first one outside of forcing a CSS height so that you don't overrun the other items on the page. The later I'm trying to figure out a way to float the other controls, and then I'm intending to add scrolling to the player list, basically the same as what you've got for the main window. That being said, you may have a better solution than I so mostly soliciting feedback before I get too far down into the CSS here. So far this looks really awesome, and for the specific use case I've got in mind this actually solves a *HUGE* issue I was fearing I was going to have, so my hat goes off to you for this! warthog9's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=65848 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107988 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mobile / responsive skin
Great to hear that. My post is a bit outdated and was in response to the authors claim that he didnt plan to make the skin fully functional and universally compatible. We did see a lot of half-done skins in the past which started out great but then were stopped at whatever small subset of LMSs functionality their respective authors actually used. A fully functional and broadly compatible modern skin is something desperately needed for LMS for many years so this post was to voice my disappointment that this might end as another activity falling short of that. If its now that complete skin Im very happy to hear that. Legions of MPD and XBMC distributions only exist because their authors were able to create a more modern looking web skins for otherwise inferior systems. --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 9, the Universal App for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch* pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107988 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I have 2 old 4s iPhones (iOS 9.3.5) which serve us otherwise still well, but as I said: When using these, accessing the /m skin will not show any players and a more or less empty screen. (Using the std. skin works, though) I tried that w/ Safari als well as 'Aloha' and Chrome Browser on the iPhone - same results. (My Win PC show the m skin w/o issues) Can anyone give me a hint / has some idea what is going on? I'm thinking that trying to follow web standards and using toolkits (jQuery and bootstrap) that hides some incompatibility issues between browsers/devices, would make it work on most modern devices, but I am aware of the fact that this isn't how it works in reality. Unfortunately I have been busy lately and haven't had time to develop this further. It fills my basic needs and I use it myself daily, basically only fallback to the standard skin when having to do a search, which is the one feature I miss most. Will hopefully have more time next year. Any help with coding/designing is appreciated, either by providing a PR or contact me directly. hephepphepp's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66879 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107988 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'm using an iphone x and have no issues. It works really well and is very repsonsive. Looks great too. In landscape mode things get a little close together but in portrait mode no issues. Would we be able to get a more compatable skin if there was some $ behind it? I would gladly make a donation for getting it fixed. I have another issue altogether: I installed it, tried it out and was all happy it seemed to work on Chrome & Edge (Win10): - players visible - artwork visible - title and artist visible - all controls visible and seemingly working But then I noticed the 3 time notations on the album art which, apart from the first, had no relation at all to the playing song. "Cosmetic issue", I thought, I'll report it. While writing my post about it though, the track changed, and lo and behold: _nothing_at_all_ changed on the interface ... I see, so I did a bit of digging and you can use this project to load virtual computers on your Linux Machine to test on IE. As you designed the site you may be able to pin point a bit better where the compatibility issues are. I will do the same on my side to see if I can pin point it to a certain spot, as part of it does work. https://github.com/magnetikonline/linuxmicrosoftievirtualmachines Let me know tfernandezw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67583 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107988 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mobile / responsive skin
First... THANK YOU! It looks amazing! I am using it in conjunction with Homeseer and HStouch. I was having an issue before getting it to load, luckily another board member on Homeseer Forum created a registry key edit that allowed the HTML engine in HStouch to render as IE11 as oppose to IE7 which was causing issues with the CSS. However, I need some help! The HTML loads up fine now, however going from right to left the icons stop at the volume, therefore I can't access Spotty. Whereas on my laptop I can. Also the playlist button works perfectly, however when I try to click the Music icon I only get a blank drop down.24085 +---+ |Filename: Screenshot_2017-11-26-22-05-49.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=24085| +---+ tfernandezw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67583 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107988 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mobile / responsive skin
Would it be much work turning this into a proper plugin (with automatic updates etc)? I have a domain for uploading/hosting, but would prefer to serve directly from github if possible. Have a look at https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver-tools/tree/master/PluginBuilder Forget that folder. It's really outdated. Turning a skin into a plugin should be rather simple. Probably doesn't even need code, or only a hand full of lines. And it's basically wrapping up a folder into a ZIP file. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

You just need a stub plugin so that the package can get signed and installed. I had one for iPeng when it was still a web skin but at the time I hadnt done the plugin part myself so I dont really remember how that worked but its definitely possible.
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mobile / responsive skin
Thank you for testing and for your feedback! You are right, next in line to implement is text input and search. (Hopefully during next week). Also missing is some kind of pagination when the server returns too many entries (currently the client will just fetch the first n entries, n=99). The toolbar isn't optimal yet either, I would like to move it to the bottom om the screen and make it bigger on all devices (I'm struggling on my phone sometimes to hit the right button with my thumb). I haven't really tested on iOS ... regarding the network activity symbol - I would expect the application to be shown fullscreen. Maybe this is the same issue as reported here? https://stackoverflow.com/questions/14572825/ios-network-activity-indicator-keeps-spinning-in-web-app-added-to-home-screen Would it be much work turning this into a proper plugin (with automatic updates etc)? I really like what you've done. The only real pressing issue I see is there's no text input available, no searches or station create etc. Strange also, when saved to homescreen on ios, once launched the little network activity symbol in the upper title bar flashes at an annoying rate. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mobile / responsive skin
So, this has come to a point where I actually am using this as the primary interface for accessing LMS on all my devices. Feel free to test/use and give feedback. Pull requests are welcome. Some essential functionality are still missing, most notably syncing/unsyncing on players, but I expect to have this in place during the coming week. With regards to responsiveness, the stylesheet is not perfectly tuned yet. I have mainly tested on my Android Nexus device, and in general I haven't tested on other browsers than Chrome. Sigh. The 256th Skin that only covers the very specific use case of its author. Dont get me wrong, I appreciate how much work a full solution is but thats the reason why, after all these years, there still is no modern web skin for LMS :( --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 9, the Universal App for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch* pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107988 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The current functionality is limited to displaying all connected players, with current playing tracks and functionality for start/stop, volume etc. The idea is not to replace all functionality of the standard skin, but only cover only the most common usage patterns (I'm not even sure there will be initial support for a local library, since I think most people use online services anyway). Navigation between different players is supposed to work (including swipe). I guess that is what is next in line - to hookup selection of media files / sources somehow (radio, podcasts, spotify etc). Also, a simple/quick way of doing player synchronization - I think this takes too many clicks in the standard ui (maybe emulate virtual players/player groups client side).
