I think you're talking about the Spotify Protocol Handler or Triodes Plugin. Those are only necessary for older SqueezeBoxen. So it should be possible in your example, to enter your wife's credentials in SPH/Triode and yours directly in the Official Spotify Menu.

wouldn't it be possible to add the Multiroom-Feature if the Connect-Server runs with LMS? No, multi-room is an exclusive to the SB Touch/Radio. Connect only is a different way to stream, but it doesn't change the fact that Spotify doesn't want you to stream to more than one device at a time.
