Happy ending (sort of).
After checking with buyblue.org, I ordered the camera from Amazon
yesterday and received it today via UPS.
I'll be refusing receipt of the other package when it finally arrives
(UPS ground from Brooklyn, NY starting Tues. AM), won't even touch the
box - no prints -

Actually, I suspect that UPS package tracking will show that I refused
delivery. I'll take a picture of that and contact my Credit Card

For electronics, Etronics.com and Buy.com have been

I totally agree re: buying from Buy.com. I have also had great service from
PCNation. You ought to see the Garmin StreetPilot 7200 GPS I got for my
SUV! Retail is $1,299, PCNation was a touch

Chet,
You've probably done this already, but since you didn't mention it, here
goes:
Contact your credit card company to dispute the charge!
You can refuse delivery, thus UPS will have a continuous record of the
whereabouts of the package. Don't accept it and then ship it back yourself.
Sorry

I agree. The BBB is paid by the business. Where do you think their loyalty is?

that's exactly what I was planning on doing -- I've already contacted my
CC company and will refuse delivery.
Thank goodness UPS tracks everything!

The tricky bit is that the BBB had a record of them under about 7 or 8
different names, none of them the name I ordered from.
I only found them by typing in their phone number... Tricky little devils.
