The GIMP will do screen captures but I wouldn't necessarily call it quick and easy to annotate unless you're already familiar with it. But it's free. I've also used a program called ScreenShot from Broderbund for years. You can set hot keys for different types of captures, annotate, etc. Paul

Screenshot v7 deluxe does timed captures. (The current version is 8.) Not that I've tried it... So I just did and it worked reasonably well except that when I chose to capture the mouse pointer, it seemed to pick up the pointer state at the time I started the timed capture and did not change
