Place a similar polygon on the appropriate solder m
Masks are negative layers.
Copy the polygon to the desired mask layer.
Presto, a void is created in shape of the polygon.

In P99SE PCB editor, is there a way to remove the solder mask from a
specific polygon? I wish do this so I can glue a piece of copper to the pcb
as a heat sink and do not want the mask there as a thermal insulator.

Pick up the vertex and hit the Delete key. Unfortunately, Protel deletes
the *next* vertex, a minor but irritating characteristic.

Yes, you can browse the list on yahoogroups.com.

Hi Tommy,
This topic has been mentioned before a while back (albeit briefly).
I would also like a more "useful" 3D board creator/viewer. I don't know if this
will happen, but I recently was sent notice of a new add-on. This was the
main part of the message (hope it's ok to send it):-

There is a utility to rebuild all polygons in the Yahoo group for download.
It was written by Jason Morgan from Citel Technologies. I have been using
it for about 6 months and it works great!
Thank you Jason.

It might help, but it will still be necessary to edit each polygon. Global
edit on polygons would not be a
Ok, I've finally got Protel's Altera PLD development system up and
running. Now I'm really looking forward to some solid development
with the Altera EPM7032 device.
I configured the PLD compiler to produce PLA files, push the
"GO" button, and found another problem. Protel's output converter

I finally found the Utility on Altera's FTP site at:
ftp://ftp.altera.com/pub/utils/
I found it in an archive eau019.exe.
Thank you all for your help.

Not really. This 3D stuff comes at the price that I'd
have to edit the part library for 3D. Since I consider
the gain of a 3D view as being rather limited, I'm not
looking forward to it.

Looks like a bug to me, too. I understand what Matt is saying -- in
Wordpad, for example, when in overwrite mode, pressing Return does NOT
overwrite the next character, but instead inserts a carriage return. In
Protel Text Editor, however, neither one happens (in overwrite mode).
