Hmm. If you use numeric allocation offset (start this sheet at 100, etc),
the annotator gets it completely right - no allocation re-use. This is a

Actually, it does not get it

I never heard of the 20H rule, So I did a search on it. I found some very
interesting articles on the subject, while I was searching I came across a
article on X2Y technology. Has anyone used any of these devices? If so do

Hi
Does anyone have a formula or a link to a spice model for a logarithmic
scale potentiometer for use within the simulator on protel 99se sp6?
ie. so that if i specify the wiper at 50% the resistance is not 50/50 but
log law.
hopefully this will be the last stupid question guys :-)

having been in such a situation before i would suggest just making your

experience.

Ivan,
can you point me directly towards a detail for the package size? I
will then send you the footprint I would use from SMT+ 's footprint patterns
if it exists already. I use SMT+ because they give good support for new
footprints that didn't previously exist in their reference. I

Is there a copyright issue with SMT+'s footprint?
My fax # is 850-942-7905.
Does SMT+ provide you with the part footprint in native Protel PCB format,
or just a mech drawing of the land pattern?

When I saw Ivan's initial request, I remembered using a small 10 pin package
made by Analog Devices recently.
I looked on the web, found the uMax package drawing, and compared it to the
footprint I had made for that part, and it seemed to be compatible.
I cannot now re-create where I got the
Hey Vince.
I know that MTBF software exist, but it is very expensive. It also depends on
which kind of analyze you want to make:
part count or parts stress.
MTBF is not really used any more. The models it is based on is not valid, the
data on the components are not up to date and so on.

one last thought on this
it may not matter what footprint you use because when you really get
rolling and really need the chips they won't be available
it is Maxim you know :)

Ha ha ha ha ha, good one Dennis! That story sounds too familiar, that's
still SOP with Maxim is it?

Yeah, they stink when it comes to parts availability. Their parts are
great, if you can get 'em. I try to avoid
Hello, all:
I got the info about the uMAX10 land pattern that I needed. Some kind folks
on the Protel group helped me. Thanks.

It can add arbitrary suffixes and/or increment reference designators of
