Hi, have you got a separate numbed? have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting it? This also sounds to me as if it could be a numlock problem, have you tried pressing numlock on the pad? you normally need this set to off to make the pad work. That's the only thing I can suggest at the moment.

another vote for Focusrite here. I bought the Saffire Pro 14. Awesome pres MIDI SPDIF. It really comes down to how many tracks you need to record simultaneously. Of course, none of the above are control surfaces like the Project mix so if you want something like that you'll need to look elsewhere.
