Hello all,
Just for know.
When I make an automation after put the mode in write, I need quickly turn down
completely the volume after press the play button and after make the necessary
curve.
If I did not do it, and for example put the volume in 0 db, before press play..

Hi John,
Yep I mentioned Clip Gain in my response but the problem with that particular
approach is that, if you want to change the value by several decibels, there's
an abrupt audible change at the beginning and end of the selection. It's true
that, in a given track, that change might not be

Another feature that is great for such situations, is to make a selection and

use up/down arrow keys. the amount of change for each arrow key press is set in

Hi JP,
In HD, instead of write or touch mode, there's a trim mode that adjusts
everything according to the delta value of the fader (or the difference between
0 dB and the new fader position). In other words, let's say your actual
automation had a fader at minus 10 dB. When you get into trim
Amazing, Slau.
It worked greatly.
Just for know, how works the trim automation in HD?

I would say the best thing to do is to simply redo the automation in the
section you want. Make a selection of the range, turn on pre and post roll and
set the automation mode to Write. Make a pass and see if you're happy with it.
If not, set it to write mode again and repeat until you're
Hi, Slau.
Thanks for your explanation.
Do you know other approach to achieve that? Really jump to a Hd version are not

JP,
This mode is called Trim mode and I think it's only available in HD. All values
are proportionally raised or lowered by whatever amount the fader is moved in
Trim Mode. There might be a way to visually select several volume break points
but I know of no way to do that without visually
Hello all.
I've been wondering this for quite some time now...I'm not even sure if it's
possible. Let's say in the middle of mixing a track, I want to fade some
selection down at a certain point, and then fade them back up. I'd normally do
this with volume automation. However, let's say a
Yep. Further, you can record at half speed by pressing Chift+Command+Space Bar.
Upon playback, the recorded material will be an octave higher.

Hi Joy,
I'm not sure why splitting the clip would have any effect whatsoever. Hmm… What
I can tell you, however, is that, if you set a filter to take effect, Pro Tools
will assume that whatever the parameter is set to is what you want all along .
So, this is how you would normally handle this
In terms of an automated sweep, you'd need to enable plug-in automation in the
Automation window, enable the specific parameter in the Auto Enable dialog in
the plug-in window and get into write mode for starters. Ideally, you'd need a
control surface to perform the sweep of the parameter over
Hey list,
i'm at a loss here. I know i should know this, but I just can't figure it out.
Scenario: I want to apply a filter-sweep to my mix, lasting two bars. It's in
the middle of the song, so I want the filter to be passive at first, then do
the sweep, and after it go back to being passive.
