Why not change the mp3 file used for the fallback alarm, or at least change the volume setting for the current thumping file? I am not saying that users should have to ssh into their radios to solve these problems, but it's an easy fix that will alleviate your current suffering. This thread

I just don't experience most of the Radio problems listed in the past few posts. I switch the Radio between MySB (most common use) and SBS and TinySC. If you do switch between MySB and SBS set your SBS Settings MySqueezeBox Keep player settings in Sync OFF I do not experience the following:
