Thanks everyone. I already use the bagman for the Super C. Works great.
What I am trying to figure out is if the same setup would work with the
large saddle sack offered by RBW.
Sorry for not being clear.

I commute on my Sam Hillborne, with a Brompton for backup and occassional
multimodal trips (eg throwing it my boss' trunk for out of town meetings). The
Sam is racked and has a QR for the bag. On the Brompton I use a bagman.
Wondering how the same setup would work with a large saddle sack.

pretty
much exclusively, as there is no FD installed.
Thanks,

Chain is 9 speed and new. Cleaning and lubing yesterday helped a lot, but
it's still noicier than I would like.
I almost bought a used Melvin, but the seller backed out.

The setup looks straight enough to my eye, but it does rattle a bit. I'm
wondering if I've got the chain line a bit off or maybe the spacers
This would be perfect for me if I needed a bike at the moment. As it is I
already have as many as I can (am allowed to) fit in my apartment.
I would have thought this to be an easy sale though.
Good luck, and enjoy the baby.

No FD at the moment. I managed to get the cable crimped in my elevator door
and decided to take the FD off for a while.
I had a Shimano Tiagra FD4503 9spd Triple on there before that . Worked
fine.

I've got my Sam set up at the moment as kind of a cyborg single speed with a
40/26/bashguard up front and a 16 tooth cog in back with whatever spacers and
old cogs I had in my parts bucket. No front derailler at the moment.
All this is held together with a normal length chain running through a
2 pulley wheels?
How is that better than a derailler?
What tensioner do people use who don't want to spend $90 on the Paul?

I turned my Sam into a single speed yesterday after a month of just refusing to
shift. Commute this morning will be my first test ride. I ride a 56. I would be
very tempted if yours were my size.
Good luck however it works out.
