Sturmey Archer hubs come in 120mm spacing, perfect for the Quickbeam. I have an S3X three-speed fixed hub on mine, and I've run an 8-speed SA hub as well. It's an easy conversion (once you get the wheel built) that doesn't involve changing the spacing of the dropouts. --Eric N

So far, so good with the S3X. I have this hub on two different bikes, and both are working fine. The only issue so far is that the hubs don't like to shift under a load. If you're already grinding up a hill, it's too late to shift (unless you can somehow soft pedal for a moment). Other than that
