We should figure out a summit meeting/ride of the Northern California Rivendell
bunch and the Southern California Rivendell bunch and do it in this area (about
halfway between LA and SF). We could stir up some trouble at the Pozo Saloon.

I too would love to hear an answer to that question, since if it is wise, I'm
pretty sure I'll do it to mine.

Hey, so anyone out there actually riding one? What are your thoughts?
The original geometry chart in RR2 from 1995 showed the largest AR being 61 cm
and taking 559 rims. The number of these actually made is a different question.
At some point in the later 90's, I remember 59 becoming the cutoff size between
AR's with 559 and AR's with 622.

Probably not.
Mark at Rivendell told me the following in Spring of 2007: The Waterford AHH
frame is just a little bit lighter than the Toyo Rambouillet frame.
Of course, my Waterford AHH bike is heavier than my Rambouillet, because the
AHH's capabilities invite beefier wheels and mini-racks
Ken,
Strongly consider that orange Ram on eBay if it is just your size. You can make
it fit the bill you were describing, that of a versatile bike that is easy to
ride fast with the fasties if your body is able. I absolutely love my
Rambouillet, because I can set it up as a pure road bike and
You must not like orange. :^) Because that one on eBay right now is a 58, and
it's a beaut!
Again, no connection to the seller.

Easy one: if you place all the current Rivendell non-custom, multi-geared,
non-mixte models (and add in the Rambouillet - it has emeritus status I say!)
on a spectrum that runs from road bike to mountain bike...that's 7 models...the
question is:
Which model lies in the middle of the spectrum?
is an Atlantis (why are you not surprised?). No
worries off-road; hauls more junk than anyone should care to; and
wonderfully comfortable on the road. I can't keep up with Rob on his
Roadeo but I blame old age for that shortcoming.

I must ask. How do you have a 22 on the crank you have? I thought you had a 110/74 on your All-rounder.
More important question: How can I get a 22?

I'm planning on doing a multi-day ride north from downtown San Francisco,
across the Golden Gate Bridge, and then exploring Marin and Sonoma. For part of
