I tried an early Cambium C17 but experienced it eating all my shorts very
quickly and it seemed the fabric textured top was responsible. I saw one in
a shop the other day and it looked smoother. Are there different textures
available or did it get updated at some point? I found the saddle
I've got a single 1x11spd Sram SL-500 on a new bike. Nice lever with very
positive click stops compared to the Shimano 9spd I've had previously. No
more cool red accents though.

Try V-brakes. Much better power than Cantis and you don't have to spend

If I was in Portland I'd buy it today.

I saw reference to Bill Lindsay’s “chopped” Wald basket in this thread, however
the links and Flickr images don’t seem to take me anywhere in 2018. Bill, or
anyone else, can you repost some pics of this setup? My partner’s new bike

I've been riding a B-17 for about ten years and have a Gyes Flyer

above, I felt much more chafing action as it grabbed onto my shorts. I also

make it to this event.

Man, I'm jealous! Living the PNW, I don't have the luxury of skipping the
fenders. I much prefer v-brakes to cantis but there is no way to do it on
my current ride.

It's nice to see I'm not the only one who likes the Mustache long and low.
I tried it up higher and closer but couldn't dig, man.

I think you're going to like the Mustache. I have them on my commuter and
really enjoy them. Contrary to conventional advice, I use a pretty long
stem and run them lower than my saddle. I move my hands all over those
things and appreciate the variety of hand positions compared to the

Hi Erl, I will just add that I too commute on a Surly LHT. Before
committing to the Albatross bars you may want to take a closer look at the
mustache bars. You will get the same hand position as the Alba bar out on
the ends, but you also get many other useful (and aggressive) hand
positions
I have the Nitto B135 Rando bar. I believe it's 42mm at the ends of the
flared drops and only about 36 or 37mm at the hoods. At first, I very much
disliked it, probably just because I'm used to riding way wider mustache
bars on my daily commuter. Although the shape was comfy, I just couldn't

I'm a big fan of the shellac. It started out as an aesthetic tool to match

I have the Carradice Bagman Expedition saddlebag support in excellent
condition, however it's unnecessarily large for my bag, a Carradice Barley.
I'd like to trade for the Bagman Sport. If anyone out there needs a larger
support please message me.

I agree. While this light seems functionally perfect, it would look totally
out of place on my vintage commuter with all silver components. Looking
forward to more iterations!

I am the type to ride very vigorously everywhere I go. I have yet to find
rain gear that doesn't leave me overheated and soaked in sweat no matter
the outside temps. I'd love to hear from other high output riders who have
found success.

Last time this happened to me, (brand new SRAM 971 with less than 20

I have a 42cm Nitto B135 that I picked up at a garage sale. I don't like it
at all but that doesn't have to do with the design as much as the size. The
42cm spec is at the widest point of the flared drops. This means that the
flats are extremely narrow and not at all suitable to me. I'd like to
I don't know the specs on these new pedals but I'd guess the Grip King are
better if you like to lean and pedal through your turns. I used to run BMX
style platforms that look similar in size to these VOs but I would always
pedal strike. Switching to the narrower Grip Kings allows me to corner
