Anybody want to recommend a cheap 10bt nic know to work w/linux on intel? Try the tulip-based cards. Reliable, fast, 10/100, and cheap. You can find them under the SMC and Acer names that I know of. Try Donald Becker's page for a full list of manufacturers, and you can find his page in the

The options -l -h -L do not work for rshd. While this is undocumented in the rshd man page, I figured, the reason must be what the rlogind man page says: if PAM is in use then the options -l -h and -L are ignored by rlogind. So then how do I configure pam for rsh to ignore all users

ftp strangeness

1998-03-30 Thread Michael Jinks
We have an RH5.0 machine functioning as an ftp server for our clients; each client has their own home directory and login. The directories all have read/write/execute permissions for the owner, as do all the files in them, but when I ftp to the machine as one of our users, ls comes back blank.

A little more background: I've been having a little bit of trouble making the ftp chroot properly for each user. In the docs for ftpaccess, it says that listing the account as a guestlogin will handle it exactly like anonymous ftp (chroot to home); could this be why they can't list directories?
