I've been following this thread online
http://caspian.paravelsystems.com/pipermail/rivendell-dev/2016-July/024729.html
but I'm having trouble getting the client machine to actually play any audio.
Everything else works fine, it can access the mysql server and can get into
rdadmin but no audio
Can anyone advise about using Rivendell with the Airence mixer from D? It
allows up to 4 channels of sound from a single USB connection. I've
successfully used it on a Windows XP machine with no problems at all and it
avoided the need for any soundcards to be fitted to a PC as the mixer does
Does anyone know how to get rid of the file type extension that is left
appended to the data after using Dropbox/RDImport?
eg import wav files created using the following format %a_%t_%l_%b_%u generates
all the correct data for Rivendell to populate the cart info from a file named:
ABBA_MONEY
I seem to recall a while back, that someone posted about RDAirplay randomly
stopping or pausing during playback. I am now experiencing this issue, however
I recall that the fault was potentially caused by a pending hard disk failure,
or that seemed to be the opinion.
I have set up a raid
Just wondering if the machine gets rebooted regularly or if it is left running
indefinitely. I usually try and reboot once a week.

Yes. It reads the info, not just on new CDs, older ones too - all depends on
the actual disc.

Have them on separate faders/channels then you can manually do the fade out
when you play the weather out. That's how I do it... Takes be back to the days

If you've already set your markers in rdlibrary and you've set your play
transition to segue rather than play, then when the log is running it will fade

You could just quickly fade down the button you don't want to continue to play
when you start the next one (providing you have set up 2 separate channels for
audio playback). That's how I do it
EG. Weather In with music bed plays on one channel.
Weather Out on channel 2 and subsequently fade

I had to do a fresh install on my Rivendell server due to the OS hard disk
developing a fault. I've replaced it and got everything imported, including all
the audio and the database. For some reason the clients can't play any audio -

Thanks for the help David and Robert,
I'm still having no joy - I've tried the sudo chattr + command which does

I know I have asked this question before, but for some reason I've never

Each time I start up I have to go into ALSA Mixer and change the output level

I decided, after spending hours and hours trying to get things to work on
CentOS6, that I would 'bite the bullet' and just re-install everything from
scratch, but on CentOS7 following the instructions. I'm glad I did! From the
moment I rebooted the server and

Although having said that, in launching ALSA mixer this morning, I see it's gone back to the default settings, so they weren't saved for some reason.

sers and login as root then the soundcard settings are restored, but it's obviusly a lot of faffing around to switch users, run the restore command then log back in as RD - is there any other way round this?

Check the soundcard settings - more than likely it's changed from 44100
to 48 kHZ (or vice-versa) in RDAdmin. Hopefully that will solve the problem.

Is there an updated list anywhere?

In Rivendell you can set the normalisation level when importing. There
is also an auto-trim feature that if set too high could mean your audio
is being chopped off if the level drops below what you have set. How
are the files being imported ? Via Dropboxes or RDCatch?
