If I use synth plugins I get a nice mixer for per-voice volume control. How can
I get the same thing when using only GM? I would think that the volume knob
under the bank & program dropdowns would offer per-voice copntrol but it
doesn't seem to work AT ALL.

OpenSUSE-12.2/64 & PhenomII box
Version 11.11.42-51.20 showed plugins in the lists but didn't do anything with
them & clicking edit on any of them in Studio>Manage-Synth-Plugins had no
effect (I did wait). So I just installed 12.04 from source tarball after
