Please take a look at this log of when I tried building LiquidSoap on
a Fedora 22 system. The dependencies were resolved, but there are
packages I tried to install that I could not find. Any assistance much
appreciated.

I thought 1.1.1 is the current version everywhere. No?

Hard research has reduced my errors to two. Explanations of, and
suggestions for correcting, these is most appreciated, with my thanks
in advance.
First error:
** Configuring ocaml-cry-0.2.2

Really? I'll have to give it another try as non-root. The first time I
tried, things blew up left and right. Any progress I made was done as
root.

Is your "WTF" to me for suggesting Sarah build as root? Well, I tried
it as a non-privileged user, and failed all over the place.

I don't know anything about opam--what it is, what it's used or good
to be used for, etc.

This gets stupider as I go. libao-devel needed libportaudio. 'yum list
libportaudio*' says no such package, but I found an RPM for it. RPM
says need jack, which I'm not interested in because this machine is a
virtual server and has no hardware audio connections on it, but I
tried it anyway. The
OK, it's getting better. I found the odd names of missing packages,
reconfigured and installed what need reconfiguring and installing, and
now I'm at this point:
checking whether pkg-config knows about jack... configure: error:
jack.pc not found.. Do you need to set PKG_CONFIG_PATH?
I'll search

Sounds easy enough ... or not. Should I install the OCAML package
manager and work with that? Here's
Stuck here:
checking whether pkg-config knows about aacplus >= 2.0.1... configure:
error: aacplus.pc not found.. Do you need to set PKG_CONFIG_PATH?
yum list *aac* yields no such package; ls of all the ocaml packages
doesn't give much of a clue either.
The main reason I'm building this in the
I just tried doing so, but stopped before committing myself. Several
of the thirty-three components Liquidsoap marked as new packages are
already present, including icecast2 and many of the required library
modules, like libfaac2, the Ogg Vorbis stuff, etc. It's also pretty
clear that if I
I sent this once, so i never saw a reply. If that's because there wasn't

The README says to:
make init && make update
OK, it doesn't say exactly that, but it says to execute those two
commands one after the other. When I do, I get
1. opam init:
https://www.liquidsoap.info/doc-1.4.1/install.html#install-using-opam says:
A typical installation with MP3 and Vorbis encoding/decoding and icecast
support is done by executing:
opam depext taglib mad lame vorbis cry samplerate liquidsoap
opam install taglib mad lame vorbis
vorbis cry samplerate liquidsoap

Now I've got Liquidsoap set up, I'm ready to stream through my
already-working Icecast server. I can stream audio without a problem. If
I have a cue sheet that goes with the audio file, such as test.ogg and
test.cue, what do I have to do in order to make the song title and
artist metadata
The README says to:
ma,e init
make bootstrap
But when I do, I get this:
make: *** No rule to make target 'init'. Stop.
What'd I do wrong?

That should have been:
make update
Same error as with 'make init'.

I'd like to have Liquidsoap use a cue sheet file, which is a companion
to the MP3 file I create for broadcast, to send appropriate song
metadata as the music changes in the audio stream. I've looked and
looked at various things in the documentation, including a lot of the
cookbook articles,
Every week I produce a three-hour program in MP3 format with a companion
cue sheet (.cue) file. I was always under the imnpression that
Liquidsoap could synchronize the metadata from the cue sheet so that as
songs change, the streamed metadata would change. I've been over and
over and through
I'm finally getting to test my recent build of Liquidsoap. Here's my
test script:
#!/bin/sh
liquidsoap \
set("log.file.path","/home/tgvpadmin/liquidsoap.log")
output.icecast(%mp3(bitrate=128, samplerate=44100, stereo=true),
host = "localhost", port = 8000,
password = "xxx",
